I didn't see it as romance. I saw Jim as lilo's big brother and lilo is trying to get Jim to play with her but Jim just doesn't care, he is always leaving her by going on the ships but he is upset that he can't stay on the ships because he has to go back for her the picture is of them and their patents who died somehow and he is telling her that she is a burden to him. Spirit and Faleen were friends and he just becomes cold to her. Jane is sad because her father (Gaston) doesn't want anything to do with her, Gaston is frustrated because he hates her but he feels guilty because she doesn't deserve this and people tell him that he needs to care. Wendy looks up to her big brother Tobias but he can't stand her he is always leaving and one night when he comes back home she is happy that he is back but then he is telling her that he is leaving for good and then she is devastated. Camille loves her father very much but Schmendrick loves to always frighten her and he gets pleasure out of it he is taunting her always but since she still loves her father she puts up with it. Flynn is Zoey's step father she is happy to have a dad but Flynn likes to watch her sleep his demons are tempting him to do something unforgivable to her (rape) so in order to save her from that he sends her away. Balto has always looked after Kiara at first it's great but then Balto is getting to some trouble and getting into fights so he starts to neglect her so in order to save her from getting hurt he has to send her away and it kills him inside to watch her leave.

I don't think the guys in the crossover are rejecting the girls it's more like they are scared since the girls are kids and they are much older that's what I got out of it and some of the guys kinda annoyed but not all of them

The spirit and Faline one made me cry... like a lil bitch. But I can totally see it. Spirit is my ultimate favorite DreamWorks character I grew up with Him. So seeing that made my heart hurt And the Lilo and Jim was me. I use to look soooo much like lilo when i was a kid and I looked up to this older guy. He never did anything he was always nice enough to lead me down that way. So that part hit me too, it was literally like looking at myself.
