The story will be finished eventually. He had two students studying under him that said they'd round off the story. Most likely the actual story is written and complete, but just needs to be put to paper with the love and respect it needs.

Bezerk is a crazy dark story but one of the OG manga/anime. The story literally starts with the main character Guts being being born out of his dead mother, who was hung from a tree and left in the mud until a mercanary's lover finds him and claims him as her own child... and it only gets so much darker. Highly recommend the series if you have the stomach for it

Would highly recommend checking out Berserk. Shit is arguably one of the most influential stories ever told. Ideally, the manga would be best, but the anime is basically up on KZbin for free if need be. Be warned though. It's... kinda dark. Like, "Guts was born from a charred, nameless corpse that had been hung from a tree" dark.

Honestly, I think this song has more to do with DPS than you're giving it credit for. with the lines like "even my own people brandished the whip... until i had granite for skin." could have to do with verbal abuse/segregation because he's light skinned, which is something he talked about in "Who Am I". there's a lot more that he said that could be related to himself or be metaphors that people can relate to but I'm not about to write all that out.

I loved and hated the Berserk anime. It took the character Guts, and showed you a man with nothing. And showed him getting a friend, a love interest, opening up... Just so he could lose everything in one of the most brutal ways possible. He started out with nothing, so they had to give hims something and then take it away to hurt him. I hear the manga has a comic relief character following Guts around constantly, just to keep the series from getting so relentlessly dark no one would read it.
