I have not played Ajing before but often do creek fishing with my Shimano Alderaban BFS (3.5kg drag) baitcaster. I know its uncommon to use a baitcaster for Ajing, however, for a start can I use my Alderaban to save some investment? My rod is also for creek fishing and its very sensitive, the length is 6ft +. Thank you!

Of course you can.. as long as you’re able to load in some polyester line light enough to cast light jigheads.. main point here is to be able to sink your rig to the strike zone.

Hi There! I'm a fellow light game enthusiast, based in Wales (UK). Firstly, thank you for taking the time to put all this together - it was really helpful! I just wondered if you have any thoughts on using a fluoro mainline...? Thanks again :)
@npe1023 жыл бұрын
@@DixonicQ Thank you so much for your quick reply! The light game scene in the UK is relatively small, but most people here seem to use PE. However, ester has recently started to gain some traction. The FC's I use have a specific gravity of >1.7, which really helps when fishing deeper water. It's has also been good for detecting takes when a fish remains stationary or initially swims towards me. Think I'll have to do a direct comparison between ester and FC, to see which works best for me...

@@DixonicQ HaHa! Yes, I saw the video of you catching that Queenfish - very impressive! Unfortunately, we're not blessed with as many hard fighting fish over here, although Atlantic mackerel and mullet can be really good fun. I'd offer to help you source some longer spools of FC, but I import most of my gear from Singapore and Japan anyway 😁 All the best!

I have never done ajing before and would like to start. What’s a decent rod and reel to start with? Budget is around $500 total. I checked various online stores and most don’t specify whether the action is fast or ultra fast (only UL). Also, I am looking at Gekkabijin, but most places already sold out. Same for Daiwa Ajing X.

No all Brands state rod action online, only a couple of them do. That’s y we don’t recommend buying rods online unless u r very sure about what u want. Best is to test it on the spot. Some rod u can look into are Xesta black star, graphiteleader corto or trailwalk Ajits. These rods range from 200-400..

@@DixonicQ Thanks bro. Will take a look into these brands. Hope the shops carry them. 🙏

If i want to use an ajing setup to do both eging and ajing which line should i use ? eging line or ajing line ?
@DixonicQ2 жыл бұрын
Not possible to do ajing and eging on the same setup.. u can’t cast a egi with ajing setup as it will break your line as ajing line will be too thin. You can’t play ajing with eging line as it would allow your ajing jighead to sink with eging PE line.
@GhettoSuguru2 жыл бұрын
@@DixonicQ but what if i use 0.6 pe ?
@DixonicQ2 жыл бұрын
@@GhettoSuguru you wouldn’t be able to sink your 1g jighead even if you use 0.4 PE. It wouldn’t even let you cast at all as PE line is too heavy.. Ajing and eging are two totally different game using different setup.. A proper Ajing rod can’t cast more than 5g, all your egi are more than 5g..
