Andrew D. Huberman is an American neuroscientist and associate professor in the Department of Neurobiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine who has made many contributions to the brain development, brain plasticity, and neural regeneration and repair fields. Much of his work is focused on the visual system, including the mechanisms controlling light-mediated activation of the circadian and autonomic arousal centers in the brain, as well as brain control over conscious vision or sight.
Huberman has been credited with coining the term "Non-Sleep Deep Rest" (NSDR), referring to practices that place the brain and body into shallow sleep to accelerate neuroplasticity and help offset mental and physical fatigue.

I’m trying to get back into shape and there’s too many do’s and dont’s and vice versa about pre workouts and protein powdered drink that I’m about to just go get a burger and say screw it. I only got muscle milk because it was cheaper and good as a meal replacement for me but I’m seeing that there’s cons for that as well. It’s exhausting. There literally is no definitive way to do this. You just cherry pick what works and what doesn’t work i guess

Pre-workouts got so many ingredients in them (often 10-15 mixed) that some of them will for sure give you negative effects in the long run. I got big heart problems in the end after using for many years in the gym. Got really addicted to the point I started to use it outside of the gym. Ive always eaten clean, no alcohol or drugs, no steroids. Only my PWO as a daily gym addiction. If anyone is reading this. Start drink some coffee instead. You body and heart will really suffer with pre-workouts in the end.

I like to reward myself with a protein bar "after" the workout is done making the habit more likely to continue since the habit stack is in a different order. I don't enjoy the bar if I didn't train and I feel like going for a workout if I long for a sweet protein bar

Wooww maby that is what I am going true in combination with pain in my pelvic Floor, but during and after a work-out I feel so anxious and depressed and in the gym I feel watched and I don’t have any motivation left, I really have to drag myself to the gym, I now have this about a year, and it started after 2,5 years of training, exactly at the moment I finally began seeing the results I trained so hard for. Of course the pain doesn’t help either, but never in my mind I ever thought about pre- workout destroying my drive! I am going to pick myself up and try training without pre-workout and see how that goes, thank you so much for the tip!

@Alhajfnfncudj 2 ай бұрын
Personally if you want some advice dont partake in a whole day dedicated to shoulders they are a tiny muscle group like your calves would you dedicate a whole day to calves? You literally only need to warm up do a good heavy working set where you only have a maximum of 2 reps left in the tank drop the weight a 10-25% and get sets of 10-15 slow n staady reps n tell me your not burning after. Compounds first isolation next. I never do more than 2 exercises 3 sets each for front n side shoulders/delts on my push days n typically only one exercise 3 sets for rear delts on pull day honestly thats all you need you dont need to do too much if thats too easy your not putting relevent effort in the weight or time under tension category

@@saywhat4314 man, it is a tough spot. It feels bad to have to set boundaries with something you know it is not inherently bad. You want to use weed, not to be used by it. Remembering that allowing myself to feel and experience reality on my own before anything is important, so that i can then let go and expose myself to the great benefits of the leaf. Been on Ritalin for over 5 years. I have *not* experienced this. What I have experienced is the ability to function like the non-neurodivergent person and the ability to focus on things that I need to to survive. "I'm not trying to demonize those compounds" Sure sounds like that's exactly what you are doing. There are those of us who use those *MEDICATIONS*do so for real life ability to be normal. You are undercutting a person's ability to feel normal and accomplish life shit. Not sure what your background is, but I actually have ADHD and can not function without Ritalin. It doesn't give me an edge, it makes me normal. Of course I'd like those activities to be pleasurable. Tell me how I'm supposed to do that without Ritalin. Trust me when I say I'm open to change, but this is the only way I've found to help the chemical imbalance that I have through no fault of my own.

Dopamine is the universal currency for desire and motivation. Every time you feel yourself desiring a hit of weed, that is dopamine hitting your brain telling you to go seek it out. Over time, that pathway will become more and more eroded until you are no longer getting the same pleasure you once did from that desire to smoke, you are only doing it to get a very small hit of fleeting dopamine. The best thing to do is take breaks, have control over your usage, and be able to go back to it after you have reset your baseline.
