We bring you an interview with Andrew Feustel, who regularly visits the Czech Republic. Part of his wife Indira's family has roots here and he has become our adopted astronaut. Neruda's Space Songs, a drawing by Peter Ginz from the Terezín concentration camp and, above all, he is known for bringing the Mole character aboard the ISS. He continues to support the popularisation of cosmonautics in the Czech Republic and wants to help the flight of Aleš Svoboda, who became an ESA backup astronaut, into orbit.
Dr. Feustel is a veteran NASA Astronaut with 23 years of experience, most recently as NASA’s acting Chief Astronaut. Prior to that role, he served as the Deputy Chief of the Astronaut Office from 2020 to 2022. In 2023 Andrew Feustel joins an esteemed list of advisors at Vast, which includes veteran NASA astronaut Dr. Garrett Reisman. This company planns to launch commercial Haven space stations in the next few years.
