Regarding your comment about housewives… they are the ones who supply the bodies that make up warring armies, governments, entire society, whether by force or voluntarily like in some peaceful religions. So they are entitled to voting rights before any other section of the population.

@@ak20107 I'm not saying I agree with it, I haven't given it much thought because it's not relevant but just an effort to understand the argument properly. So, 1> Yes it does. 2> If we completely ignore unquantifiable things like love, duty, care, etc then lifetime food, lodging clothing are enough compensation for replenishing society because if we eliminate the unquantifiable, "replenishing" could be done by governesses and surrogates as well, theoretically better without the the threat of divorce laws on men. 3> Upbringing is itself unquantifiable, but if we treat "replenishing" as anything other than an economic transaction in the legal sense, then with that "replenishing", the blame for the kid growing up to be a criminal/stupid/unemployable/lazy would also fall on the woman and in that case, her replenishing left the society worse off. Therefore, the "replenishing" thought of as a transcendental achievement that automatically deserves a say in the government and economy doesn't logically work.

Assuming that this highly reductive conclusion is not what you meant to say, why should this prevent women who do raise good children in society from getting voting rights? As a basic principle, the law.. or rights in this case should be gender neutral ie all adult humans (who are not criminals) get voting rights not just men who go to wars. Or a male who decides to stay home as a house husband should also not have voting rights because he would be getting free boarding and lodging. Do you agree with this? Appreciate the detailed response. I watched the entire 3 hour video and acknowledge that this is not the topic which was discussed on the show. Your example of housewives not getting voting rights is what I wanted clarity on. The Ankit shahi future looks pretty bleak for women when he says families will no longer have the luxury of two people working… meaning that women will be forced back into kitchens.. the slippery slope horror of where that leads does not have to be imagined… women are used only for breeding in peaceful societies. Would you agree this is what Ankit shahi philosophy says?

It is clearly explained in Arthashastra and that has no mention of Rebirth as an argument of Hindu economics. For Abrahamics this world is only a transit lounge where several thing that are inanimate and those that don't believe in god are there as a served product for their enjoyment. Their echonomy is driven by this principal.
