Dr Atkinson - Barriers to Active Learning in Large Classes

This guy changed my university life 20 years ago. I used to skip my Tues/Thurs Psych class where the professor actually said, "I can't answer questions during a class of 400", so I asked him, "Why can Dr. Mike do it in a class of 1500 at Alumni Hall and you can't?" -- I skipped that class to go Super Psych (which in the end my philosophy course didn't benefit) - But I learned about the power of engaging your audience and active learning. I went on to become a teacher, and jump at the opportunity to tell people in Education that you can harness Active Learning, but you have to dig deep and prep for it, depending on the size of your audience.
