Gandhi vs Ambedkar Not at all a match. Comparing a people leader and an intellect don't match at all.. In their times Gandhi is the only leader in India who fought severely against the caste system. In his time Gandhi is the leader of dalits, not Ambedkar. Ambedkar is never a people leader. He not even coordinated dalits and formed a party. Gandhi and Nehru are the reason behind the power given to dalits in education jobs equal rights, etc. Ambedkar never have the power of people or political parties. But he was made to work on Indian constitution because of Gandhi wish and Nehru influence. British gave dalits double citizenship not because they join together and fought for it, they simply wanted to split India in whatever way they can. And ultimately what they did matters. Gandhi got freedom for India. India is a strong democratic country. Whereas no other country that got freedom around the time of India have proper democracy eg Pakistan, China, afgan. Nowadays dalits lifestyle have emerged a lot only because of the education and job opportunities given to then. Note that was given to them in a time where they have not at all coordinated themselves. They don't fight for their rights even like blacks in America. But equal rights and opportunities are given to them. Instead of abusing Gandhi and other freedom leaders if dalits have concentrated a lot on spreading the opportunists they could get by educational system and job opportunities, they could have achieved even more. Of course India have its problems. But leaders like Gandhi Nehru Patel and Ambedkar(by writing Indian constitution and by believing in non violence) have done their terrific job. In my experience guys who abuse Gandhi worst, mostly have racial mindset inside them deeply. They hate higher community people. They will hate Gandhi Nehru and Patel only because they belong to a higher community and they are Hindus. That's it.

I belong to the brahmin caste, but I completely agree with what Dr Ambedkar is saying. He seems to be a true Democracy believer. I somehow feel his thought are not passed down properly. And congress has kept the divide alive between the castes. I also agree all the upper class have had played equal role to keep this discrimination, but I also think the leaders of the minority have also contributed to keep the minority backward, so that only they enjoy the power and benifits same as what upper class people did and still do.

It is not true that British were firmly believing in the loyalty of Indian Army and the phenomenon of INA upset their beliefs and expectations. Even in World War I they were most afraid of a revolt in the Army and the Gadar revolutionaries as also those revolutionaries led by Rashbehari Bose, Sachin Sanyal, et al. Actually Pingle and others who have been hanged for their role in attempt to overthrow the British Rule during World War I were making attempts to convert the sepoys in cantonments to revolt and Pingle was actually arrested in a cantonment too. As for Ambedkar, he was quite loyal to the British to the end, and he served as the member of Viceroy's Executive Council during World War II period and after too when the entire country was up in arms against the British in violent or non-violent ways. He would have been most comfortable with the continuance of British Rule in India. That is what he hints here in the interview even. He never fought for independence. But the interesting revelations made - like that the Gujarati paper of Gandhi carried different or contrary set of opinions of Gandhi as opposed to his English paper Harijan, etc. are worth inquiring into and deeper research is needed.

Ketan Adhav The NCM was with drawn due to chauri chaura incident,which if not called off the violence would have spread to other parts of country nd the movement would have been suppressed brutally with huge casualties .The people r not prepared enough to carry out such non-violent struggle.( Iam not much convinced with his argument but his commitment to non-violent struggle is commendable), CDM was carried on extensively nd a break was given as British called for negotiation s.Later negotiations failed nd he continued the movement but it couldn't sustain as people don't have only limited potential to sacrifice(to understand this just observe any mass movement, how it's course nd participation levels changes over time.Eg:our recent Anti corruption movement) He is not a God to get rid of British in a wave of magical wand,he did what he could and through the means he believed.

History is not a cinema and it is not a hero villain zone. Every one has contributed for our country. Ambedkar wrote our constitution not by doing any strike or winning any elections. Regarding Indian history more than good books, there are lots of false and fake books. Rather than any thing we should evaluate history with our mind and human instincts. At 1920 Gandhi is in favour of the caste system. He expressed it openly. But by continuous involvement in politics and analysing the Indian scenario Gandhi came to a conclusion that caste has to be abolished. He openly expressed it. Most of the reference is only of 1920 s. Lots of guys hides the fact that Gandhi is the only leader in India who fought severely against the caste system. In his time Gandhi is the leader of dalits, not Ambedkar. Ambedkar is never a people leader. He not even coordinated dalits and formed a party. Gandhi and Nehru are the reason behind the power given to dalits in education jobs equal rights, etc. Ambedkar never have the power of people are political parties. But he was made to work on Indian constitution because of Gandhi wish and Nehru influence. This expression are only the half truths. Not trying to confront the truth completely. Everyone knows in history we can take some speeches and writings and express history with our own views, that's what lots of guys are doing. Most of the referrence only to 60 s. Not 1935 s. See ultimately Gandhi is a people leader. He worked with millions of people around India. Where as Roy and Ambedkar are bueurocrats. Intellects. At first he believed in these things. Eventually by working with people and evolving through the freedom movement he attained a great clarity about life. And finally he took a fasting which would have ended his life even, to free his soul from the mistakes he have done, as well as the Indian society like believing in caste system, etc etc. If you believe a guy can be a mahatma from day one, you could simply hate Gandhi. But it don't works like it. They get some points through times. Gandhi is like that. He never said he is a mahatma, he mentioned he is only a ordinary human being. Blacks have benefited a lot from Gandhi. They took his method of non-violence and won power and equality from lots of countries around the world. Wherever they have taken weapons, they are struggling for survival even. And ultimately if you are going to hate Gandhi loss is for you only. So no problem, go on with your views and spread it even wider. British have spread lots of fake and false news against Gandhi. They want to show the world they are cultured and India is an uncivilized country, and Gandhi is not a reason for Indian freedom. Similarly Christians and Muslims hate Gandhi A lot to, because even after this much of hard work, for 1000(Islam) and 500(christian) years, 80% of Indian population Still remain Hindus. Its because of Gandhi, So nowadays they are attacking Gandhi even more widely. Communists are attacking Gandhi, Because he stopped their revolution, Which would take place in India. Even in India well read educated people nowadays don't believe in Gandhi, after reading news like this. I think (personal view) its high time to think about what Mr.Ambedkar did and what are its effects on the people of India. His intention was to abolish the caste system and to sustain right to equality After 67 years of Independence did we acheive that ...R we even close to that goal????? All of his measures were implemented. Did it make any difference???? Those who are enjoying reservation are still enjoying(2 generations) ..and those who don't are still backward. Mahathma Gandhi had foreseen this situation and posed his objection and I feel he was right. What do you feel about reservation in Indian Cricket team..... What will happen when the best players are made to stand outside and the one with the merit of being born in a particular family or caste play for the country..Think..(again a personal view). You are right! Dr. Ambedkar expressed to abolish caste system. Fucking Nehru and Gandhi want to gain out of cast system or else they can't keep-up their Brahmin and Vaisya caste and votes from upper casts at that time. Since independence, why should write cast and sub-castes in any application we fill? Gandhi was on 'Satyagraha' to take-off the word that related to generalising people of India in 'Constitution'. that's why still we are struggling and fighting to join in BC/SC/ST... +Rahul Murikkoli. Anything which comes without much effort is under-appreciated and hence wasted. We need change in policies- like restriction to availing benefits after two-three generations. This also helps in integrating people, since most of the people esp the youth are incensed because they see some of their non-deserving (wealthy) classmates and colleagues getting the better deal. The onus of integration also lies on the non-reserved classes. One has to stop asking about each other's castes origins in public. This must be shamed .. only then shall this practice cease. To my knowledge, there are a lot of intermarriages between all castes (yes, 'higher'-'lower' too), but these people are quiet to not draw attention and live with dignity. There is a change but some more pushing is required.

M K Gandhi has views that Indians settled in the cities should move to the villages as he believed the heart of India is in the villages. But on the other hand, Babasaheb Ambedkar's views were modern. He felt that for the development for personality, villagers should move towards the cities and move to foreign countries from cities. Ambedkar was a product of Western education and so was Jinnah. Look where Pakistan is a today even though they got a disproportionate amount of the wealth when the country was divided. It is the emphasis on the welfare of villages that is kept India from becoming like Pakistan. In a small correction, Gandhiji emphasized the welfare of villagers but didn't say we should all go to villages. Read your history.

Other sources do reinforce Ambedkar's case. Ambedkar was a brave and active progressive social reformer and the evidence shows Gandhi was not. Instead Gandhi wanted to sustain a highly segregated social system that was rid of one master and replaced by another that is Bhramism. I can see why Jinner was motivated to create Pakistan because in Gandhi's future model of India muslims would not fit in a Hindu based social system. I can see why Churchill thought the Hindu social system was highly problematic. It's very complicated but I am happy my once distorted perspective has been shattered and the truth is emerging. Though this may not be a real voice of Babasaheb Ambedkar, but one has to accept that we do have a divide in Hindu society. All those who are Hindus should come together on religious, political and social platforms to resolve this issue for once and all. Because if we continue on different paths in opposite directions based on castes and categories it could result in further divide like sub-castes, regions, languages, social standings, economic status and one can realize that he is standing alone. But that will be late and we might have reached to a no point of return and already broken into pieces. There are so many powers which can take advantages of our situation. Hence my humble advise would be encourage those people who are trying to bridge this gap and reach to a resolution and create one strong religious, political, economical, social group which could resolve their problems as one without any discrimination. Division will be destructive for everyone that is for sure.

Fight Club I know I am considered as Shudra but who wasn't? In 19th century all Kshatriyas and Vaishya were considered shudras because a claim was made that Parshuram had cleansed all Kshatriyas from this earth.Hence only Bramhans and Shudras are there. But in the religious scriptures it mentioned everywhere that 'Varna' is not based on birth but on 'Guna'. 'Varna Vyawastha' and 'cast system' are two different things. 'Varna Vyawastha' is mentioned in scriptures and it was not based on birth hence provided mobility for social movement from one to another i.e Vyas, Walmiki, Kalidas etc. 'Caste System' was introduced by British for population consensus. But later used and misused for many purposes. 'Caste system' doesn't have any support in religious scriptures but propagated for vested interests and to satisfy super ego of higher social class. A day will come when someone will drag these things to light and expose these lies.
