I mean no harm but why would a single woman feel that comfortable calling her male pastor and ask him to pray that she don't have sex. You mean to tell me you don't have no women prayer warriors or intercessors that you could have come too. I've been my Bishop secretary for 21 years I would never contact him for that when there are female leaders I can go too.
@faywatkins698322 сағат бұрын
Totally agree. Not wisdom
@sweetthang325720 сағат бұрын
Uhhh she said that her and Willie more jr are friends that's why she felt comfortable calling him. Not sure if you and your pastor are friends like that.
@empowermentcoach20 сағат бұрын
@@sweetthang3257 I am friends with my Pastor but he is my Pastor first before he is my friend & I still will not go to him and ask him to pray for me that I will fall but my prayer would be to pray that I stop putting myself in positions that don't favor me as a single woman. My issue is not her friendship with Willie More that's why I didn't mention his name. But like I previously stated you have no female leaders at your church that you are not comfortable with asking for them to pray for her but not only that but encouraging her not to take baths with them so that she won't find herself in situations as such. That's one of the reasons for the mothers of the church to teach us younger women. But if a single woman don't have at least one spiritual woman to contact for prayer or guidance for situations like this than that's a problem as well.
@michelleclark667318 сағат бұрын
Why not? She’s going to her pastor which is her spiritual covering. Nothing wrong with asking for prayer! It’s who’s there until your husband arrives! It’s not inappropriate by any means!
@empowermentcoach17 сағат бұрын
@michelleclark6673 I never said that there is anything wrong with asking your male pastor for prayer because yes that's her spiritual covering, however as a single woman asking your male pastor to pray that you don't have sex is interesting to me because why would he be the first person you go to and not his wife if he is married or another female that's in leadership because you the pastor is not the only anointed person in church nor the only which can get God attention because everything do not have to go to your pastor when other leaders are established within the church. I'm a leader in my church & have been my pastor secretary for 20 years and I believe that you don't give place to the devil to even assume that's why leaders and single men & women need to be extremely careful. I personally would not go to my pastor about anything sexual in nature unless I am asking him how to tell a man that I'm not having sex until marriage because I'm getting a mans perspective. But if a person, being a woman and she knows she has problems with her flesh she need to go to a voice that can relate to her and give her avenues of how to abstain and not give in it. Because I promise you she didn't tell her Pastor that she be taking baths with a man that's not her husband. Let's not play games because I played those same games by trying to justfy laying in a bed with a man & you are single or taking showers & baths and think the flesh is not being entertained. But that's my perspective on it because I see out of a different lens. The beauty of this conversation is that there are no right or wrong comments.

She is talking too much. She will keep talking herself into being single to her grave. You DON'T HAVE A MASTERS DEGREE IN MARRIAGE. You can't speak on what you don't know. Engaged is not married. Just because you talk fast doesn't mean you're saying anything. Stop. Breathe. Listen. Learn.

She doesn’t need a masters. Do you have a master’s in being single? Being married isn’t a pre-requisite to counsel someone in marriage. Even ppl who counsel others who have been married don’t have all the answers. What the counselors are there to help you navigate through issues just about any relationship goes through. Be it a relationship between man & woman, or a relationship among friends & peers etc.

All relationships whether a person is stable or still in school it’s still a risk which is a possibility which is “potential”… I feel we should continue to have convos around how we can educate young men and women on how to play supportive roles, mentally healthy roles, conscious roles, respectful roles etc etc and to her point how to operate in such roles when things are in a spiral so that the goal is to get back the opportunity to love on your partner in a healthy safe manner… we are all going into relationships with “potential”… its an opportunity to see if we are compatible… we need those tools to have the mindset of determining if that person is right for you so that you can either work together and build or respectfully part ways❤

Great interview, but thanks for helping the people today, Dr. Jamal Bryant. Let's not intentionally create temptation. Stay out the tub or put on a bathing suit single people lol! Love this! 😂❤

Interesting conversation some parts were really hilarious too…. I don’t agree with the “bathtub or password” requirement though

44:00 the conversation about bathing together... is it me or did she really throw a truck full of shade on the Pastor? She needs to stop because...

I didn't see that. How did you see it like that? No shade just curious..

@@sweetthang3257thank you for asking. Now this is my view and I'm okay if others differ - that's okay. She was talking about unmarried couples taking baths together. Pastor Jamal jumps in, where he can because she doesn't give him the opportunity to speak much nor allow him to share his view, he jumps in to caution against unmarried couples taking baths together because it will lead to something. She cuts him off and says that he was referring to low functioning men whereas she was referring to high functioning men. The shade being that she is implying he is also low functioning which he is not. It felt like she was referring to who he was not who he is. But I feel the concept of high and low functioning is problematic but that's another conversation. My problem with her, in this and other interviews, is that I feel she is not open to the views and opinions of others. So she doesn't speak to invite conversation and discussion, rather it feels like she has a prepared script that she is reciting and she is not comfortable to diverted from it to engage or hear other view. Pastor Jamal handled her well by letting her talk. I felt in this interview she fell on her own sword and exposed not only her insecurities, reg flags but also that what she is 'preaching'' and what she does in practice is not aligned and not biblical. These are my thoughts @sweetthang3257 hope it makes sense... Happy to hear you thoughts

@@iamsophiapeart cool I love a good debate. I like your dissertation of this and for the most part I see what you're saying. I didn't see the shade but you did. Pastor Bryant is good with letting people talk. Yes she's very insecure and immature in her thinking to me about a serious relationship especially if she's trying to get married! The whole thing about bathing to test your discipline is childish. If you're grown enough to start something finish it. Don't play with it. Also men especially don't like to be teased!!

@LadyRev I know, imagine if the Mrs. would have been doing the interview. That was TMI.

That’s too much brain work for me. I think I’m too old fashion. I don’t even go through my own phone like that.
