A better theology of sexuality is greatly needed by all people. Most kids are never taught the biblical truths about sex. Thank you for yr ministry.

This is so cool. Dr. Yuan is so...thank you brother for your courage. The Church needs this ministry. It is honest and real. And I liked what he said about suffering. I am learning to grow in my faith.

So relevant and as people wake up to the damage of the worldly, carnal view of sexuality, there will be a tremendous need to speak the truth of the holiness of God as our Creator and minister healing and restoration through a new life in Christ.

This guy just spoke at my church. As a gay Christian in a monogamous relationship this left me feeling like shit. It’s ONE man’s story people and his blanket statements are grossly misleading. YOU don’t know MY heart. ONLY Jesus does. Great way to turn people off to religion. The Bible doesn’t talk about a lot of things. Automobiles, airplanes, iPhones, KZbin - none of that is in the Bible either. You know how much money I’ve given to the church, how many people I’ve brought to Jesus, how much good I’ve put into the world? So easy for people judge. If anything though this has strengthened my relationship with the Lord. I know that at the end of the day HE is all I need. I’ll continue walking the walk and so what if that walk is with a swish!!

Fantastic! Yay Jesus. :-) By the way, yes .. Jesus said deny yourself, not die to self. If the old "us" is still alive, Scripture is incorrect and we know ... THAT is not the case. :-) "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." -Galatians 2:20

That's his whole point, though. He says sexual orientation isn't our core identity; our core identity lies in our relationship with God.
@remissao133 жыл бұрын
Hey, @The dark lord, so good to discuss this with civility. I believe in God, but I don't think believing in God makes someone better than others. Religious people - even those who are sincere in their beliefs - can be terrible too. We can build our identities around other stuff, things like our worldview, our sexuality, or families, our communities, our success and money and so on. The problem is these things change all the time, they can be lost, they can be terrible masters to human beings. Not God. I believe God doesn't change, he's fair, and he's so loving that he decided to give his own son to have a relationship with us. I'm not trying to be superior here, I don't think believing in God makes anyone superior. I just wanted to tell you it could be something you might want to explore. Have a beautiful 2021!

@The dark lord I really don't know why. I know being raped for instance is never one's fault and I don't know why God would allow that to happen. What I know is that God is not afraid of hard questions. There's one person in the Bible, Job, who asked him questions very similar to yours. God answered Job, though not the way Job expected, and blessed him. I know he'll answer you too. When I complained to God about all the screw up in my life, he answered me. More than that, he's been making those scars beautiful things. I know he wants do that with you too. I hope you don't find me cheesy!

The description of homosexuality as a lifestyle is a blatent oversimplification of human sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular. Such indoctrination of the collective societal psyche is paramount to the self validating delusion of heterosexuality possessing moral validity. The reason that we never hear the term " heterosexual lifestyle" is because there is no need to catogorize heterosexuality with such descriptively inherent connotative oversimplification in order to subconciously justify contempt and hatred through subjective comparison.

We have 8 adopted children, all grown now, but our 2 nd son became a homosexual. We did not reject him. We continued to love him. I prayed for him always. We had many serious conversations and I always told him of forgiveness through Christ. He moved out west, and we flew out to see him more than once. I thought we had a good relationship. Then, in 2016 he cut us off completely; no explanations at all. He would not answer any calls, defriended me on Facebook, without any reason as to why. Finally, one day, he called me. He told me off and said I did not live him, he wanted nothing more todo with me. I told him that I accepted his decision as he is an adult and has the freedom gave gave each of us to choose. I also said that I do not want anyone to be in my life who does not want to be in my life. He was quiet then said, “Well, I guess that answers my question.” I told him he did not ask any questions but simple told me to stay out of his life. I told him I would continue to live him and pray for him. I also told him that he is the one who is intolerant, not us. We did not reject him, but he rejected us. He hung up. What could I have done better? I sent him cards- no answers.

In one point this guy said our point in life is not to be happy it’s to be holy so yeah if you’re gay you should love god and repress yourself and not ever be who you truly are, THAT’S NOT TRUE you should be happy. And if you’re gay and christian you can love god and be true to yourself and happy.

Yuan's arguments could be used to justify slavery. "Slaves shouldn't get everything they want, etc". In fact, I am sure some antebellum Christian preachers in the South made this argument for continuing slavery.
@dirtandgrin5 жыл бұрын
And don't even get started with women's suffrage, inter-racial marriage, and the list goes on. This video is an argument for a hermeneutic that would not be employed in almost any other topic.
@SoSheree4 жыл бұрын
Any argument can be used to justify anything. Is a parent cruel for saying no to a child who wants chocolate at every meal? Yes, in a way. He just want chocolate, he isn’t necessarily being mean in asking for it. The child may get emotional about the no and “suffer” hurt feelings because of it. But is the parent then wrong for saying no? No! A loving parent knows that not giving a child what they want all the time is essential to raising a child with good values. Suffering isn’t always a signal of evil abounding or sinister schemes, it can mean we are needing to grow in areas and the journey is simply rough and uncomfortable.
@christopherskipp15254 жыл бұрын
Would it be fair to say that "hermunutic," in the context of theology, merely refers to one's method of textual exegesis?
@westwind554 жыл бұрын
A child wanting chocolate at every meal has an objective and scientifically demonstrably negative effect on the child, namely poor nutrition and possible obesity. What objective and scientifically demonstrably negative effect is there from homosexual relationships? None. Any argument to the contrary is akin to how antebellum southerners used to argue that freedom was bad for the slaves. And those southerners certainly used the Bible to justify their position.
@User_Happy354 жыл бұрын
@@westwind55 the rate of HIV infection among that demographic may be indicative there is something wrong in the practice/lifestyle itself. Besides, Christians follow the bible which holds that same sex sexual relationships are forbidden. We believe the bible is our final authority on what is morally acceptable or not, so if it says it's wrong we will not overrule God's word.
