An Australian computer scientist and businessman, Wright has claimed to be the engine of the team that created Bitcoin and the true identity of “Satoshi Nakamoto”. He will be joined by his business partner Jimmy Nguyen, the CEO of nChain. Together they aim to restore the original Bitcoin protocol, to keep it stable, and to enable massive on-chain scaling, to promote the global growth of their new Bitcoin SV. With all of Bitcoin’s recent controversy, they aim to restore its place as the dominant and safe global cryptocurrency.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.

The only people who are actually FRAUDS are people who accuse Craig of being a fraud. There is absolutely nothing fraudulent about original Bitcoin and BSV that maintains it, BSV is literally THE BEST WORKING BLOCKCHAIN there is by great margin, so anyone that wants to keep calling BSV a scam is outright completely ignorant or frauds themselves, as only ignorant people can not see this, or if they do yet they still continue with such narrative, can only be frauds themselves. Of the thousands of actual frauds with all the shitcoins and tokens who never achieved anything other than making their creators and few traders richer, BSV and Craig have never defrauded anyone, BSV is actually the only blockchian that scales, build for the global use, and Craig has never taken a cent from anyone, unlike the thousands of ICO creators who stole hundreds of millions from unaware (and stupid/greedy) so called "investors". PS: your username is cunt400 for a reason... it suits you perfectly.... and I bet your account is one of the many FAKE accounts created to mislead people the way MSM do it, by repeating the same lies over and over, till the people believe them. 1TB blocks? every 10 minutes??... 144 TB/day... 1 Petabyte a week.... I'm not sure how many node operator will continue to persist the blockchain at that cost. Miners secure the blockchain's future (w/ competitive fee market). Nodes secure the blockchain's past (w/ longest chain). If the cost of running a node (verifying miners are producing valid blocks) increases, causing node operators shutdown, the single node/group/miner that remains has the ability to rewrite the past, thus has total control of the network.
@Torrnintwo
@Torrnintwo 5 жыл бұрын
@ ɃoilerRoom I agree. Just how is the average person going to keep the chain on their personal pc to run a node if blocks are 1tb, that's insane. Most peoples HDD space is gone in an hour. I think it will make btc sv really centralised, only big data storage providers could do this and for how long? If it comes to environmental issues consider the energy but with this consider the mining that would be needed to make all these new hdd's. It doesn't seem practice or logical. Someone prove me wrong and I will consider it, but at this time I don't see it.

BitCoin is supposed to scale massively. We're talking Google level datacenters, world wide, running nodes just like Satoshi claimed in the whitepaper. Look at Craig's claims for EDI. Massively cheaper and magnitudes more efficient with giant BitCoin blocks. When we have massive corporations running BitCoin for their own database purposes, and EDI (which is legally required for them to run) we'll have a massive blockchain decentralized by massive entities. Nobody cares about hobby raspberry Pi nodes. Not what Satoshi had in mind.

@@wrongthink1212 reread what I stated about EDI. Large blocks (of which nChain and CoinGeek are the only ones to invest into scaling for massive worldwide use) will be largely attractive to any large corp. The cost of storing data on servers will be so much more cheaper and secure years down the road, when blocks are uncapped. Literally no other coin can scale and hold use cases like BitCoin. Satoshi Vision is just a ticker name, based on what Satoshi saw for the future of Blockchain and utilization. The coin is BitCoin, and I don't care what exchanges call it, since they will all crumble in due time. If you care nothing about adoption but just price/ticker names, you don't get it. Have a nice life.

That was awkward and uncomfortable. Craig Wright is all over the place. Verbal communicative ADHD maybe? He can’t give a focused response to a specific question ever. At least he’s being more transparent (intentionally or not) with the fact that his “vision” is to preserve the established status quo and the long standing rule of law and presumably control structure of the monetary elites. He as much as admits that his vision is basically a globally reaching, omnipotent and omnipresent digital version of the exact same world we are currently living in. He’s not a very good communicator and while I don’t really like him nor believe that he is the creator of bitcoin I do try to listen to this camp as I believe it is important to sincerely consider every perspective on the direction we journey ahead with on this new frontier as it has incredible consequences. While I lean more on the side of decentralization and individual liberties and sovereignty combined with a very limited governance it’s definitely worth pondering whether we really want to go away from the “western culture” and rule of law that we have established over such a long period of time. And then there is the fact that it’s not likely at all that we actually do inherit a new world free from financial and government tyranny as the current elite are not likely to sit idly by and let it happen and we don’t REALLY know or have any control over where all this crypto/digital shit is coming from and certainly not where it’s headed. I for one think one of the wisest things a person could do right now is learn about, prepare and establish an anonymous presence in the digital world and familiarize yourself with how to operate anonymously in a world of complete transparency and surveillance. A world where your every action (or keystroke) whether in the physical realm or the digital, is perfectly reviewable by at least one single entity and potentially even by any and everyone who wants to. Then again, we could just have a global war that sends us all back to the Stone Age. If we had worked on ourselves as human beings and a species wide community as much as we have worked on technological development and economic growth and thus were generally a more enlightened and ascended people we could begin creating a sustainable utopia right now where none suffer due to unnatural causes and all live with abundance and purpose. For some strange reason I just don’t think that future is something we are going to allow ourselves to have.. It’s a real shame.

I believe CSW is Satoshi as he claims. But, I also believe the vision of total surveillance and pre-crime monitoring that he gives in this video is extremely disturbing. Wright is clearly the original Bitcoin maximalist. He is a true believer. That being said, his dream will never come true. One ledger to rule the world, one ledger to find them, one ledger to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.
@naviddadkhah4485
@naviddadkhah4485 4 жыл бұрын
I do think CSW is Satoshi otherwise he wouldn't want to go to court and prove it. so he must have solid evidence. the decentralization and liberetian is just a lie. I we saw what happened during the unregulated ICO boom in 2017-18 that all these youtubers and shitcoins CEOs were trying to rub people to buy their coins and then dumped on them. they want the government go away so they can rub people easier. If craig was a fraud and wanted to get rich, wouldn't be easier for him back in 2015 to just make a coin like litecoin or etherium or eos?
@stevenoconnell6297
@stevenoconnell6297 4 жыл бұрын
Navid Dadkhah I understand your dislike of fraud and people being taken for a loss so some fraudsters can get rich quick. Personally though I believe with conviction that a free market better filters out fraud than regulation. Let me explain. So crypto ico’s are a perfect example; brand new, completely free from regulations and controls and yes naturally unfortunately a new and unknown market is rife with fraud as consumers are unaware. The ICO’s are a perfect example of this. But as a result, government does their job and prosecutes as many fraudsters as possible and puts them in jail and people become far more careful and do their due diligence in the future. Those 2 factors alone are what eliminates the fraud. It’s sad that some people will take a hit but you have to be allowed to fail in order to learn and grow. The alternative is to have regulations which are always overreaching and will eliminate competition and ensure that a few monopolies control the market and we end up with a couple dominating corporations, and 1% of people reaping all the financial rewards while 99% have no opportunity to benefit nor compete as they will be swallowed up by the government backed monopolies. And even if the regulation comes, what is it that makes you think there will no longer be fraud? Fraud is naturally against the law so anyone participating in a fraudulent enterprise wouldn’t concern themselves with laws and regulations anyways. Just like how criminals don’t buy licensed firearms. They are criminals. The only people who adhere to regulations are law abiding, honest citizens and they are the ones who lose in the end because of it. Lastly, I do NOT believe that the spirit in which bitcoin was created is one of government regulations and corporate monopolies but rather one of freedom, liberty, free markets, non government intervention, sovereignty over ones own money and property and don’t forget the right to privacy and the ability to participate in unregulated marketplaces with anonymity. If that wasn’t the point of bitcoin then what is? We already have digital transactions.

It is not only that more people/miners means more trust, but also that the miners are different types of people (a fair representation of the society) so that certain groups do not take advantage over others.

Lol. Hilarious. At least he didn't go into full on sweary rage mode (as is often the case when he's put on the back foot) after the interesting conversation at 44:35 Wright is spouting more of his nonsense. The page IS saved for everyone to see. The snapshot of CSW's own Blogspot webpage entry that he originally created on Tuesday, 26th August 2008 and was archived (before Wright had made any claim to be Satoshi) on 2nd June 2014 contained the line: "Tomorrow - back to the DNS paper, my statistics dissertation and work.". When a snapshot of the same page was taken on 25th May 2015 the text had been edited in the interim to read: "Tomorrow - back to the DNS paper, my statistics dissertation and work. *I have a cryptocurrency paper out soon. Twenty years. Triple entry book keeping. BDO was good for something.*" It isn't some nefarious, untrustworthy website that has archived the page as Craig implies. It's the Internet Archive - "a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more." It is a trusted and credible source of seeing a webpage as it was on a particular date. Notice during the question from the audience member (which was calmly and softly presented) how Craig's body language becomes defensive, and then he stands up, raises his voice and starts deflecting at that point talking about emails and other nonsense completely not related to the question. At 48:00 he starts to get agitated and Jimmy tries to cover the cracks before Craig loses it at 48:58. More ranting about PDFs, when the question was about Wright's own personal Blogspot website! 50:25 ahh, there's the swearing! Craig S Wright publicly claimed to be Satoshi on 2nd May 2016 (BBC News) following investigations by Gizmodo and Wired in December 2015 (both after the website had been edited sometime between June 2014 and May 2015) Seeing as Mr Wright subsequently deleted his site from the Blogspot platform (which was archived by The Wayback Machine), perhaps anyone facing him in court should ask Google for any archived backups of the Blogspot website user data, including all of the revision data? Oh, he also had other Blogspot sites too. Wink, wink. ;) EDIT: (haha!) CSW's "former lawyer" buddy stated at 47:51 that The Wayback Machine isn't admissible as evidence. He said, "Courts of Law don't accept Wayback Machine printouts as reliable evidence of what a website may or may not have looked like in the past because they're not entirely reliable". Erm.. WRONG! Look up UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF KANSAS - MARTEN TRANSPORT, LTD., Plaintiff, v. PLATTFORM ADVERTISING, INC., Defendant. Case No. 14-2464-JWL The defendant tried to argue that the Internet Archive's pages weren't admissible because the Wayback Machine doesn't capture everything on the page or update every page from a website on the same date. The judge, after receiving testimony from an Internet Archive employee, disagreed. He found the site to a credible source of preserved evidence -- not just because it captures (for the most part) sites as they were on relevant dates but, more importantly, it does nothing to alter the purity of the preserved evidence.

And it's important to note that Wired (and Gizmodo) definitely DID reference the doctored pages of Wright's own 2008 blogspot blog post in their investigative article despite Craig denying it in this video where he insisted their claims were based only of faked emails. I quote 'An August 2008 post on Wright’s blog, months before the November 2008 introduction of the bitcoin whitepaper on a cryptography mailing list. It mentions his intention to release a "cryptocurrency paper," and references "triple entry accounting," ' This Wired's 2015 article goes on.. Dropping Breadcrumbs? Despite that overwhelming collection of clues, none of it fully proves that Wright is Nakamoto. All of it could be an elaborate hoax-perhaps orchestrated by Wright himself. The unverified leaked documents could be faked in whole or in part. And most inexplicably of all, comparisons of different archived versions of the three smoking gun posts from Wright’s blog show that he did edit all three-to insert evidence of his bitcoin history. The PGP key associated with Nakamoto’s email address and references to an upcoming "cryptocurrency paper" and "triple entry accounting" were added sometime after 2013. Even the post noting bitcoin’s beta launch is questionable. While it was ostensibly posted in January 2009, it later seems to have been deleted and then undeleted-or possibly even written for the first time-sometime between October 2013 and June of 2014.

Read a lot of satoshis old comments from back when he was posting. I think CW might have hired the real satoshi to research a project like bitcoin. That guy released it captured the priv keys of the satoshi stash and destroyed them. CW can win in court that it was his funding that created the bitcoin paper and it is his property and he is listed as the creator. Real nakamoto probably died or is being tortured indefinitely for the priv keys to the stash that he probably terminated. Who knows but CW doesn't say he wrote tons of code and worked tirelessly with others to create the algorithm. But he demands that the name of satoshi is rightly his in the eyes of the courts. In my opinion CW has difficulty putting together sentences let alone code 6k plus lines. We can only prove it with a signature from the original block that is the proof that CW avoids talking about like it doesn't matter. How could satoshi sit around and argue he is satoshi all day and not once and for all prove it with a transaction or signature. Unless he is faking it his actions do not makes sense if he were the real satoshi mastermind / creator behind bitcoin.

And Blockchain is essentially a distributed version of a singly linked list (which was created in 1955 btw) with consensus rules and restricted size. Each block in the linked list of a blockchain consists of a tree of data. It's not that complicated, it's just a restrictive combination of rudimentary data structures in a distributed fashion with open input and a consensus algorithm. Singly linked lists evolved to arrays and up to the point of DAGs for organizing data over the course of 40 years. Saying the DAG is based on an old tech from the 90's shows the lack of understanding you have about your own technology and the history that it's based on.

You're having a laugh aren't you? Andreas Antonopolous would destroy Craig Wright both technically and in fundamental terms in a heartbeat. Roger Ver is far more technically able and he's not even a hardcore developer. To date there is ZERO evidence to support CSW's claim of being Satoshi. Granted... he's made 'attempts' at proving he's SN but all of these attempts have failed due to the evidence being either doctored or unsubstantiated. If he really wanted to prove it he could move some coins from an original SN wallet using private keys... of course there is the possibility that Kleiman was Satoshi and CSW alegedly may have stolen Kleiman's private keys. Hence the ongoing lawsuit. So in fact, if CSW did activate an old SN wallet address it may not actually prove he is Satoshi but may possibly implicate him as per the Kleiman vs Wright case (assuming Kleiman was Satoshi).... .. Perhaps a better test, bearing in mind Kleiman is deceased, would be to ask CSW to provide a lecture on the white paper logic and be open to a forensic examination by developers who actually know what they are talking about. I suspect CSW's 'wheels may come off' pretty quickly in such a scenario. Personally I don't think there''s much chance the person who wrote the 09 white paper is anything closely resembling Craig Wright. The language patterns and gaps in technical understanding just don't add up. You can put lipstick on a pig... but it's still a pig!

Have you listened to Andreas' talks in detail? The guy knows his way around Bitcoin like very few others. He's a fantastic advocate for the crypto space and conducts himself professionally. On the other hand your false prophet gets notably twitchy, rude and unprofessional when questioned about his integrity. If the Kleiman case goes against Wright I think this will unravel quite quickly and BSV and the dubious backing behind it will most likely disappear.
