How can someone give a thumbs down! 😱 Here's a doctor who turned the lives around of many many of his patients because he has an open mind, is willing to learn and is able to openly admit he was wrong. That is quite rare these days. And all that is accompanied with a lot of creativity in bringing his message across to his patients in a comprehensive way. And he does it with respect and empathy for everyone involved. And not only that but he also makes a great effort to enlighten other doctors and healthcare workers so they can do the same. I have só much respect for David Unwin! I think he's the bee's knees. Thanks Doc

Back in the 70s, my mom went to an osteopath who put her on low carb even though there was no name for it. He was a grouchy old guy and he explained the science and gave her a food list and told her that it wasn’t going to affect him whether she followed it or not. If she wanted to get better, she would do it for herself. She was a rare patient who only needed a plan, and off she went. She did great until a busy body in-law who told her that all that protein would give her cancer. So, of course she put it all back on. Why do we do this to ourselves?

This is excellent and a sign that things are changing for the better under the NHS. I am over 3 years in since my diagnosis as T2 diabetic when my HbA1C result went from 49 to 44 using 'healthy Mediterranean diet'. Then I got a glucose meter and found out what actually raised my blood sugars - starches as David points out are a definite no - also there are worse things out there for a diabetic than 'sugar'. I will never again eat products with glucose/ fructose syrup even small amounts - sends my blood sugars soaring. So did 'real ale', now replaced with red wine. Then I went LCHF and for the last 3 years my HbA1C results has been a consistent 37/38. I have been on and off high blood pressure medication for 10 years previous - no longer required! My trigs are now excellent. No drugs for any of the problems I had - even the anxiety I had is no longer significant. My doctor just tells me to keep up the good work. Regarding my weight - I have lost and kept off 3 stone!

25 years ago I was diagnosed with insulin resistance, but doctors pretty much fobbed me off. It was then cholesterol then fatty liver Along with auto immune & inflammatory Bowel disease, I have become my own dr by listening to these talks by open minded doctors & people like myself. Keto and now carnivore style is my way of eating. Fats & proteins is what I eat = Liver improved Cholesterol lowered Asthma gone Ulcer colitis improved

My husband WAS Type 2 but following the LCHF diet, he is no longer diabtetic. He has been free of it for over 4 years now. His GP is impressed with what we have done to turn it around. Also off BP meds. There are over 50 types of 'sugars' and we have none of them EVER. I cook everything we eat !!!!

Carb addiction is real. Those who deny this, do not understand or have an agenda. I gave up all sugar, starches, grains almost 4 years ago and have had nothing but a return to great health, physical, mental and dental too. In fact I have had no need to visit my GP since starting keto as such good health now. My six monthly dental check ups have ALL been perfect, no work needed at all. Amazing. Is eating cake, sweets, bread or rice worth it? No chance. I chose life and health.

@jimbeaver273 жыл бұрын
@@WH-hi5ew I never had keto flu, you just need to have lots of electrolytes and minerals. If you do get it, hang in because it is worth it to get to the other side where your liver starts to heal, etc.

@@WH-hi5ew There are ways to ameliorate and prevent keto flu. It mostly comes down to electrolytes and vitamins.
@ActivateMission2ThisTimeline2 жыл бұрын
@@WH-hi5ew You are addicted. You have to move slow! First cut out sugar sodas, then bread, then pasta, starchy vegetables, seed oils, while increasing low carb veggies, meats, animal fats. You have to eat high protein so your kidneys will hold onto the electrolytes. This should happen over many weeks or even months. Good luck with your addiction, I kicked my sugar and carbs to the curb!

So this is a message for all. THANK YOU!! So appreciate your hearts and passion to be a teacher, model and wonderful doctor to your most fortunate patients. A physician’s physician you are! Thanks again and keep up the fantastic work!

I thought I was a carb addict but I can have a half a piece of toast with breakfast to wipe the egg off my plate. I do not eat any other carbs. I used to be a sugar addict, sure I liked bread, potatoes, and pasta but not like I loved sugar. I am almost at my weight goal and I do hope to include some of my favorite foods from time to time, like spaghetti, although I will likely have a small amount of noodles from now on.
