I had a black lab named nellie ever since I was 5. A few years ago, I had to say goodbye to her and it was one of the hardest moments in my life. Saying goodbye to such a good friend. A few days after I discovered this song and the name and the band name seemed prophetic. I remember the first time I heard this song I was sobbing and reminiscing all of the great memories we shared together. This song stands great on its own but has a very specific and beautiful meaning to me ❤❤❤

When I suggest, "Hey, do you guys want some music during dinner?" my toddler-daughter consistently replies, "Oh, Nellie? How about Oh, Nellie, daddy?" Never gets old. (I give her Dr. Dog selections, but not ALWAYS "Nellie." )

What I would give to have been there!! This song has got me through so many rough times. The lyrics are just phenomenal, let alone the melodies. And the drumming here is brilliant.
