@MrJackcorgi8 жыл бұрын
the problem with dr dre is that the majority of his lyrics were ghostwritten by the DOC and ice cube. also a majority of the beats hes claimed to have made were actually other peoples productions that he took credit for after making slight adjustments on the board. after all who would you rather hear/buy a beat from..? the mighty well known dr dre or some noname producer who made great beats. all of the above can be confirmed if you do your research.
@dljtwo7 жыл бұрын
People ghostwriting for him is far from a "problem"... it makes sense and it actually makes "cents". Research Barry White and Quincy Jones, two of the dopest producers to ever do it. They all had "teams" of writers and musicians that helped them write/produce songs. It's no different than a new show coming out of television today and all you hear is "from executive producer so-and-so". The big name introduces the product and the product sells itself. All of those producers and writers that you think Dre is stealing material from are a part of the musician's union and they get paid handsomely for what they do, so don't feel sorry for them thinking they're getting taken advantage of. They're not. I've been a part of the musician's union for over 20 years and if you don't get caught up in the game and don't become star-struck, you will make the money that's due to you. There is no producer in the game today like Dr. Dre and if you've watch his career, you'd know that he has evolved since he first came out. He has never had a need to steal beats from anyone.

"Everyone has to have their own sound"
@kennyg.66085 жыл бұрын
It was like that in the 90's and early 2000's but the last ten years, each section of the country does not have they own sound anymore. It's just anything that's "popular" everyone jumps on and rides the wave. The whole southern rap, atl especially is bs today. The sound quality and standard is dead all across the country. I would rather listen to Nipsey Hussle rip than Kendrick Lamar because his shit sounds more organic. Kendrick is catering to the world with his sound,sounds cartoonish to me. But I miss the days when the south,west,and east can be identified with they sound. "Most" of the shit coming out in the last ten years from either coast I cannot connect with, it doesn't grab you,doesn't resonate,no foundation

@@MultiKadafi Premier is great but Dre's ear for sound, production IQ, as well unmatched engineering capabilities easily surpass what Premier is capable of or anyone else for that matter. Hip hop and rock music are the two greatest rebellion forces in music history. Hands down. As far as content goes, I'm not a fan of the woman bashing, however the violent lyrics are a reflection of reality. Hip hop is not to be judged based off morality, which is why the elder generation doesn't appreciate it.
@h20-p6g5 жыл бұрын
Violence has always existed. Without a moral centre rebellion falls flat and is only destructive. Rock music and rap much as I love it has had an almost strictly negative impact on our culture in every possible way. In terms of quality even the best stuff is cheap throwaway crap compared to what preceded it and what used to be before it. I hate to say that because I love it but dont see any other way to look at it.
