'modern day masterpiece' the album is great but you guys are acting like it's the best hip hop album in ages when it's not even solidified it's place as the best of the decade so far. MBDTF is easily on the same level and some may say even better.

I respect Kendrick as an artist and I'm happy someone is trying to bring rap back but that doesn't mean other people should be stripped of their awards for it. Just get ready for next year when Adele wins album of the year and Kanye freaks out because his shitty album didn't.

@yd856
@yd856 4 жыл бұрын
Most important yes. I hate when people compare it to other albums like MBDTF and Atrocity Exhibition because they’re so different it feels unfair to do so. But then again the messaging behind Atrocity Exhibition and MBDTF isn’t nearly as important as TPAB. Even if they might be better sounding albums if you’re judging by importance of message TPAB is the greatest album of all time.

You know what's beautiful? Those of us that understand the true passion Kendrick Lamar has for hip-hop and the ability to put such talent on every album he creates is a blessing. We are living in the time of such abominations and chaos that most won't appreciate Kendrick until he's gone and we'll all say 'I told you!" But let's not knock others for not appreciating him now. Rather we should enjoy his music with others who do. Talk about his lyrics. Feel the funk! As he said. He is what hip hop needed. Fuck a list. Kendrick is on another level. I'm glad to be alive during this time in life. Although it can be rough with all the changes, it's beautiful when you come across something with love. Good vibes y'all ✌🏼.

I first discovered his music from good kid madd city and was blown away with the story telling , the way he writes , beats , people talking at the ends of songs.. and yes bringing albums back !! Of course I went backwards to pimp a butterfly which is a album in its on class and level .. it’s so incredibly original .. section 80 feels like it describes my 20s and brings back that back in the day feeling .. Rigamortus might be my favorite song my him .. I just keep exploring his music and of course bought damn on release day !! What years later and I’m still Reading through lyrics of damn.. No, you're entirely right. A cynic might even say, he is doing damage control. Talking up Fif, when Fif himself played down his relationship with Dre, recently. That's the difference. Dre can't remember the records, whereas, Em could probably name all of them in an instant. Fif always referred to Em as his 'best friend'. Nonetheless, it's still nice to hear Dre talk about Fif candidly.

I have not listened to that album yet but if Dre is producing it it has got to be good he should put out Jon Connor next he needs more time to shine.

He failed to mention that DJ Quik did the drums for that track so it wasn't just him on the beat.

This is probably Dre's best time to drop an album. But hell, I think Dre should have Kendrick produce a chunk of the album. Kind of wished you talked more about TPAB though, BIG. :)
