Bobby and Theo help addicts and family of addicts by having these conversations. I know Theo isn’t in the episode, but in his own pod he also talks about addiction a lot. And it helps see so much of the struggles they phase as well as their perception of life. I like that Bobby asked everyone in the podcast to keep him on track.

@@nirvanafan21191I’ve lost my stepdad to addiction last may. And now looking back at how I handled myself at times makes me a little sad. And the way Dr Drew explained certain things, opened up my eyes. I hope you’re able to stay strong for them, it’s a long battle.
@nirvanafan21191 Жыл бұрын
@@D.S.Torr14 Sorry for your loss. My family member's addiction goes back decades to when I was a kid. It's just been in the last 10 years that we've come to realize they have a real problem. So it's been a long battle already trying to keep them sober. They've done in-patient treatment, AA, sponsors, the works but they keep giving up on their support system and falling back in to their addiction. It's hard to get through to them when that happens so it's getting to the point where we've had discussions of just cutting them out of our lives, or giving ultimatums to do so because we feel we've tried everything on our end. It's tough because as Bobby and Dr. Drew were saying, you can see when addiction is taking a toll on someone. That's what we're seeing in our situation.

I'm 16+ years sober. Was addicted to cocaine at a very young age. It morphed into crack. I always knew I deserved better for myself, and the come downs were brutal, filled with regret. One day I found out I was going to be a father, and I quit cold turkey. I remember being plagued with nightmares of using again. They always ended with a huge regret of losing however many days of my sobriety and having to start over. Now, I am 5,931 days clean, give or take. I could never imagine starting at day 0 again. What helped for me was correcting my thoughts. For the first year, I probably was a little crazy. I remember having to yell at myself everytime a thought about using, or a feeling of not being enough, crept into my head. I believe it helped correct these thoughts from continuing. To everyone out there, it's never too late to take ahold of your life again.

Thanks for this episode guys! Another issue with cannabis is CHS (cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome). I developed it after smoking daily for about 2-3 years. I smoked because of anxiety. It is absolute hell. It causes severe anxiety and nausea and gets worse the more you smoke and gets really bad if you try to quit. 3 straight weeks of debilitating nausea and anxiety. I couldn't work or anything and doctors really don't know about since it's relatively new (people are smoking more and the THC % is much higher). I almost died from dehydration (couldn't keep down anything, even liquid). Thankfully I found a doctor that was willing to help me instead of treat me like a pothead junkie. If you smoke daily and start experiencing morning nausea, stop smoking for a week. If it goes away, you could have CHS. Quit smoking while you can though, because it gets really bad. It totally debilitated me, I had to quit work for a while and I wanted to die. Weed is much more dangerous than it's been made out to be.

I was able to correct some of my lifestyle habits (through 12 step and therapy) and by the time i had 18 months i didnt really need it anymore. The risk is having a pill bottle full of it near you at all times, it’s extremely easy to relapse when its that close to you. I was okay, i talked to my sponsor and everything and turned out okay but im well aware of how dangerous it can be to have access to the medication, especially earlier in recovery.

Needless to say, if you call an ambulance in Amsterdam and you mention in the call that you are suffering from weed or mushroom overdose, you will get no ambulance. You might get one, if you said you are a medical doctor, and you are suffering from aenichal inertia but not of the delirious type.

Hell yeah! Love Dr. Drew! So initially I’m wanting to really follow this conversation, HOWEVER, I can’t help but to notice the way the cameras are cropped, to where the giant Bobby Lee head behind Khalaya perfectly aligns with the mannequin behind Dr. Drew’s right side creating this giant nightmare-Ish Bobby Lee cartoon monster! 😳😳 🤣

Bobby need to bring back the sketch . I thing his sketches are the best . Those old sketch with jordon , Howie , new word, tank were amazing. Even the last sketch that he post on IG of him and santino on gym , slapping them were hilarious

I've watched Dr. Drew (and Bobby) talk about addiction and sobriety for years. Yet I've still been struggling to be mentally strong enough to "be real" with myself that I have an issue that is slowly & consistently ruining my life. I keep "justifying" things and being "sneaky," as Dr. Drew mentioned here. But this episode was another amazing push, reminder, and inspiration to get sober-- and remember that it is BETTER to be sober, any preconceived notions of safety or intrusive thoughts telling you that you can handle it & will be fine when that's not reality need to just be squashed. We all only get one attempt at this life, and for myself, my family, my future, I don't want to look back and see how much I've wasted. I need to start on the road of sobriety again, for good now.

Watching khayla panic when questioned about any aspect of her endless bullshit stories is absolutely hilarious.

Glad Dr. Drew put KK in her place for stepping over boundaries. Hoping her moving out is a step closer to solo Bob episodes

Concerta was a game changer for my life. Years of depression and adhd chalked up to anxiety, and was on the wrong meds for years until I switched doctors.

Bobby straight lying about edibles not having dosage information, like he would follow recommended dosages anyway

Yeah... You can really feel him trying to blame his mistakes on weed. Weed is addictive, but you can't demonize it just because it makes you go crazy.

Dr. Drew to Bobby: "Do you have a lot of trauma? I forget." No wonder he didn't return your phone calls, you don't even know the guy.
@Roxanne3802 Жыл бұрын
To be fair Dr. Drew has probably encountered thousands of Bobby's with trauma as bad and way worse, so I can see how a guy in his field loses track of who got molested, beat, etc

drew admonished bobby in that sentence not k. if you cared to remember what he said before the 'stay out of it' was that bobby needs to check his behavior with his sponsor. bobby knows that his sponsor won't let him slide on anything, but he turns to k to check his behavior because he knows he can get away with shit.

When I met Bobby Lee he made eye contact for a split second then he didn't look at me for the rest of the night. Yoshi, who was outside sitting at a table by himself, told me something about him that made me feel better though.

It was my first time in L.A. so it was already surreal that I was walking around in San Andreas, and when Bobby popped up with Bert and Tom, it felt like I was having a mild stroke.
