It gotta be the music genre why Steve is not commonly rated as a "guitar hero", he truly is playing in masters class. Soul, sound, style.

I get that this is not the original lineup, but I have nothing bad to say about the current state of the band. Seen em live many times with this lineup and enjoyed myself every single time. Thanks for this video.

It must really grate when you played with Lee Brilleaux over 30 years ago, and have kept the flame burning ever since, yet still people say you're 'not the original band'.

Answer to that is do something new. Lee Brilleaux was a one off , one of the greatest frontmen of all time

This band can stand on their own merits. If you want something closer to being at a 70s Feelgood's gig there are covers bands like The Feelgood Band who 'do it right'

Whether they're good or not, or even better musicians than their earlier line-ups with at least one of the original members they shouldn't be touring under the name, cos I if think of Dr. Feelgood I think of Lee Brilleaux fronted band. They could be called Feelgood -band or Dr. whatever, cos that's what I expect from a tribute band, a very good one but still a tribute band. People into their recent sound would know well enough to get to the gigs anyway. Now it is as if Billy Preston had formed a band called The Beatles after their split and hired a bunch of seasoned fab four mimers playing by his side.
@bonnie71912 жыл бұрын
I don't agree with your Beatles comment. Guitar, bass & drums all joined Feelgood in 1983, 11 years before Lee died. I saw them with Lee many times through the 80s. Seen this line-up several times & glad they're keeping the music alive. Better than no Feelgood at all.

I will not pass judgement in this band's ability but lets keep it real, these dudes playing as Dr Feelgood is as legit as would be Led Zep without Page/Plante, The Beatles without McCartney/Lennon, The Stones without Jagger/Richards, The Who without Daltrey/Townshend. Lee Brilleaux did a good job carrying the torch but when Wilco left, Dr Feelgood was the equivalent of a world class swimmer losing an arm.

Lee Brilleaux requested that Dr Feelgood should continue after him. Here they are. Saw Dr Feelgood with Lee back in the early 1990s, shortly before Lee passed. Would prefer that Lee still sang with the band, that cannot be. Planning on seeing this line up in a couple of months. Reckon they can pull it off and the money paying audience seem to like it 😀

@@thebatoutofdurham8327 Wilko says in Finnish "Soundi" rock magazine"s October 2016 issue, that without Lee Brilleaux it's not Dr Feelgood. Wilko also calls band's current singer a jerk:)

I saw this band live last night and they were nothing short of magnificent.The guitarist Steve Walwyn was the Feelgoods guitar player when Lee Brilleaux passed away,the drummer and bass player had already been in place 6 years prior to that. so they definitely have the provenance.Brilleaux's wishes were that the band should continue and so here we are. Yes the frontman has big shoes to fill,but is a terrific performer in his own right.

Sounds good but without the energy of Lee and Wilco they are more like Dr. So So. Also can the singer rip on harp and slide like Lee?
