The band went through many changes over the years. Wilko Johnson left in 1977, being replaced by Gypy Mayo, who himself left in 1981. Sparko and The Big Figure left soon after. The current lineup is Robert Kane on vocals, Gordon Russell on guitar, Phil H Mitchell on bass and Kevin Morris on drums. With the obvious exception of Kane, they were all members of the band in the 1980's, backing Lee Brilleaux. Lee had made it clear, prior to his death in 1994, that he wanted Dr. Feelgood to continue without him.

It should be noted that the guitarist, bassist and drummer were all in the band back in the 1980's with Lee Brilleaux. Lee cannot really be replaced, but this is a very fine band. If you want to hear the authentic sound of the original Dr. Feelgood, try listening to The Feelgood Band, they come pretty close. Unfortunately, their guitarist is about to leave and it will not be easy to find someone else who can play in Wilko's style.

It would be hard for anyone to match Lee Brilleaux on vocals and the great Wilko Johnson on guitar, saw them many times in the 70's

Sadly no. Original singer Lee Brilleaux passed away in 1994. Guitarist Wilko Johnson left in 1977 and is still active, after surviving what had been thought to be terminal cancer; he also appeared in the Game of Thrones TV series. Johnson's replacement, Gypie Mayo, who co-wrote this song, left in 1981 and passed away in 2013. The original bass player and drummer, Sparko and The Big Figure, I think left in 1983. That said, the current guitarist, bass player and drummer, Gordon Russell, Phil H. Mitchell and Kevin Morris were all playing in the band with Lee back in the 1980's and singer Robert Kane has been with them since 1999. Still a great live band😎
