The most insightful thing this guy said was that we should be more concerned, not with developing technology like the iPhone that distract us into being absorbed by the technology that is unlike us, but with developing technology that is more like us. So, what he did, at the end of a seemingly thoughtful, amazing and cutting edge speech was to totally negate the method toward the goal he spent all of that time arguing about. It’s not about developing cutting edge technology and AI. It’s really about resolving the psychological/emotional dilemma within the human condition that prevents us from seeing all of the answers to our deepest longed for questions about why we suffer within the context of being able to love thy neighbor as thyself. Yes. He pretty much said that there are computers/robots that have consciousness. He keeps things very discrete, and he does, but I believe that he's smart enough to understand the power of words. If this is true, and if he is honest, he would never claim, on scientific consesus basis, that "the mind" wholly resides within the brain which only resides within the skull, as there is observation for example, that part of that brain actually resides in and around the stomach for example, which would negate "the fact" that "the mind" wholly resides within the skull. However not much is know around this topic, it gives me enough consideration that he is actually not referring to the mind the way many plebeians would receive it. "it all happens in this 'tiny little thing' inside our heads" which is a very interesting statement, which again would provide evidence for my point that he is speaking esoterically, the brain is the third largest organ inside our body, a 3-pound organ, after liver and skin. In no way is the brain a "tiny little thing". However, that which is potentially "tiny and little" is the soul that is seated within the skull, as it is merely around the size of a acorn, if we look at esoteric references towards visualizing the soul itself. Or linguistically, another example, english language, UK, talks about how objects like knifes and plates, or other things like sugar and butter, "live there" in the cabinet, drawer, or refrigerator. So, we have already been influenced through media, or language, seeds have already been planted, that would be capable of nudging many a person into accepting objects like a rock or a statue, to have some form of life in them.
