Smooth transition from the top of your chest voice to your head voice. Very good cover. I wanted to hear how others cover it before I cover it. It's a fun song to cover. Glad to know I am not the only one who does that transition, I thought about doing it an octave lower just to avoid the transition but I hear now in your cover it sounds great. Also your voice is a bit cleaner than Dennis Locorriere and is easier to hear the flow of the melody. Thanks, again very good job.

Grew up listen to Dr.Hook (35 yrs old) Gotta say man Great Job. Would love to hear you sing this without all the extras. I know you would do the song justice without it. But really great job though.

I realize this was over a year ago, but since nobody else commented regarding this point, figured I'd toss my opinion in. Please take this in simply the constructive manner it is intended. you've got a really good voice and it fits well in this song. Your playing was good, and the chorus harmonies really brought it all together (whether it was you backing or not, doesn't really matter... it just sounded really good) really my ONLY issue with this is the overall feel, mainly caused by your tempo. this version is, IMHO, about 50-75% too fast. compare your version here to the original - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i16WoGqYjrKFmKM yours is considerably faster. If you think about it in terms of walking pace (thinking way back to my early music classes in school) the original version is a fairly slow walk, perhaps even someone moping... the way you'd expect someone to walk when they're facing the love of their life leaving town as in this song. Your version, while musically just fine, loses the intended feel of the song given the faster, bouncier rhythm you've given it.
@stivc92896 жыл бұрын
Sean Bova Absolutely agree...the speed of this loses ALL the emotion!!!
@barbarapollock76167 жыл бұрын
nice but too fast in temp so you loose the spirit of song,,,
@cjcarp94387 жыл бұрын
Yup,,,,,, it almost loses the Desperation / Longing that makes this song so damn Gut Wrenching Sad.

Slow the f*ck down. Where's the fire. Half of the beauty of the song is the slow tension. Voice great, guitar is fine, but....
