Yes great scholars have always had theological differences, doesnt mean either is wrong. Dr Israr (May Allah bless him) was a great scholar of islam, and I respect him very much. Tableeghi jamat is doing a very essential grass root work in the community staying away from militancy and fights, their work is of great importance too.

Afsoos logon ko Dr sahab ki baat samjh nahi arahi.. Iqamat e deen yani deen ko riyasat ke har shubay mai nafiz karnaa kitnaa eham hai aur is baat par tableeghi jamaat mai koi zhor nahi.. I respect Dr. Israr but i am not agree with him on Tableegi Jamaat . A Muslim always can ask his other Muslim brother to follow true path, i think this at least a proven point. Tab. Jamaat isn't doing anything objectionable. All that they are doing just serving for ISLAM voluntarily. Trying to make you a good Muslim that's their ultimate GOAL. What this man says is as true as the faith of there being one God & Muhammad his messenger (S.A.W) . FYI: Sahaba ke nikalne ka maqsad sirf or sirf logon ki hidayat tha, qitaal nahi tha. Qitaal intehaayi j!haad hai, jab koi chara na ho. Khalid bin Waleed (ra) ka waqya padhein seerat main to samajh ayegi baat. Unhone tab bhi dawat di jab dushman ki fojein samne tyar khadin thi maidan main. Or unki dawat per dushman ka sipehsalar imaan le aya, jang nahi hui.

prof sannalullah sahab of India had a great connection with tabligi jamat When professor sanaullah sahab went to France to study there was only one masjid in that country he started to give dawat to people's like he was doing in India with tabligi jamat so gradually people start understanding what he was telling then after finishing education he came back to India then few years later one jamat came from France to India they told now 4000 masjid had built in France .this is how tabligi jamat working all over the world they go in clubs and give dawat

Reading the comments below, i feel like so many people have completely missed the point the Doc is making. He is not criticising the work by TJ... he says they are doing Islamic work like many charities, dawah organisations etc... The point is that this different to the work to establish the Deen ie establish the authority of the Deen as a political entity. I cannot believe Dr. Sahab. Just because he left home in a bad mood, doesn't mean he should criticize such an effective Jama'at. Tablighi Jama'at's first main purpose is to remind ourselves, and others who we are, what are we suppose to do, and what are we doing now; and how to rectify our errors. It's true that our Prophet (PBUH) didn't arrange groups to go out and preach, but point to be noted, thats what He (PBUH) did by himself. Tablighis go overseas not to preach to the non-muslims but to voice the muslims there towards Allah. Let's do a little comparison, a 50 years ago, very few of us were this much aware of our religion as most of us are today. Credit (By Principal And By Principle) goes to Tablighi Jama'at. Most of our Scholors sit in Madrassas at one place and debate (Doesn't apply to all but to most); its only the Tablighi Jama'at that you see knocking on door to door and requesting person to person, calling out "Come to Allah and forsake the Dunya". I believe Dr.Israr's this debate is very unfair and is not based on the facts but is only based on his personal antipathy towards Tablighi Jama'at.

They are serving Islam without any personal interest or greed.... When our Prophet was alive, He did the preaching of Deen, and commanded his companions to do so too... Thats why you see Sahabas resting in different countries; including many in Pakistan... I don't know what kind of example you are looking for... Our books are full.... Doctor Sahab, left home in a bad mood and started bombarding Tablighi Jama'at; he is a good scholar, no doubt, but all he does is sit on chair and criticize, or talk..... I think you need to go back to school, or why not go to Tablighi Markaz (Centre) and see for yourself, hear them out, talk to them for a little while, you won't lose nothing; atleast you will know what they actually are and what they actually do.

I dont have any personal animosity with Tablighis...most of the people in that Jamaat have very good intentions but I get very disappointed because I know that despite their good intentions, they are simply wasting their time as their methodology contradicts with Sunnah. I asked for evidences where Sahaba went to non islamic state to preach before establishing Khilafah. The ULTIMATE goal was always to establish Khilafa. Do Tablighis care about Khilafa? Why they dont make any effort for that purpose? Preaching about religion, saalat, sawm, hajj, good deeds, all of this is great but whats the use of preaching this when law of the land is based on kufr? Today we dont have a single country which has Islamic law 100% implemented at state level. There is no khilafah at all today and yet Tablighis and guys like you dont care about it. Its a serious issue. You should think about it. So again please dont give me proofs about preaching as I am not against preaching. If you can guide me and prove me I am wrong, I will gladly accept your view and view of Tablighis but I havent seen any valid proof yet. Lastly you made a grand assumption about me brother. I respect Dr. Israr, but I humbly disagree here. The Tablighi Jamat does not have the motto of Jihad or setting up a Caliphate. The Tablighi Jamat has never claim to be a movement to conquer lands and politically bring uprising of muslims. Therefore it will be disingenuous to draw this parallel. The motto of Tableeghi Jamat is to bring common people back to Amaal, get them know basics and least required knowledge that every muslim must do in their daily life. Why did prophet gave an ocean of Hadith? Should they not be told to the people? Is only saying the Kalima enough? Who will think about muslim people involved in drugs, rag pickers, prostitute, layman who does not offer even namaz, people who don't even know a surah? People who don't care about farz and sunnah? Did Allah not say(paraphrasing) : There should always be a Jamat who should do Amr bin maruf nahi Anil munkar? May allah accept the works of Dr. Israr and forgive his mistakes and mine.

just to clarify the Dr.'s point! RA(saw) did not go to Ta'if for tabligh. He went to seek nusrah, which is the protection (military support) for Islam. It is well detailed in Ibn Kathir's "Al Bidya wal Nihaya" the section on seerah, that RA(saw) approached a number of leaders of tribes for this purpose (43 if i remember correctly). The proof of this point is that he approached the leadership of Ta'if and not went door to door inviting people to Islam or trying to drag them to the masjid...;)

I never disagreed but Qur’an is in Arabic. A part from it everything is interpretation (tafsir) even the exact translation. The verse that says Prophet teaching the verse of Qur’an implies explanation of Qur’an through Hadith. I am one of them who has stood up for salaat by tabligh jamat and I know many more. If it wasn't them I would be in the pub right now. Only a slight concern is that they should do the work in hosh not in josh. Should leave enough for the family to survive while they are away. If they cant do that than they should not go. Through out the Qur'an, the past stories of Prophets tell us that we have to change our Yaqeen. The ghair of ALLAH is capable of doing anything let alone the success. The lies in the hands of ALLAH through his ehkamat and tariqa of Prophet (saw). What we see is dhoka, what ALLAH says about Ghaib is haq. So we do the mashq of leaving this dunia recalling the stories of Prophet telling us ALLAH's help is with those who have pure Yaqeen with him and doesn't have Ghair in his heart.

We should seek guidance from Allah, Ask Allah What is Right and What is Wrong. in my personal view Tableeghi Jamat is a Jamat of Humans and Humans can be good or bad, So the purpose of the Jamat is very good, some individuals of the Jamat may make mistakes which should not be attached with the Purpose or Mission of that Jamat. Dr Israr was Very good speaker too. May Allah show us the Right path.
