Looks great! Very nice apposition. Is that little chip in the medial to proximal radius a broken off medial coronoid process?

Hey JL, yep- persistence paid off with the reduction. Some of these can be a real beast to get back together, others fall hack into place with minimal effort! The little mineralisation is likely incidental. Some dogs (generally large breeds) get medial ossified structures in the flexor tendons. I think it is more likely this than anything else as I see it occasionally in non fractured radiographs, it is very smooth and it would be really hard to fracture the tip off the medial coronoid process. Hope that helps. Cheers James

Dear James , thanks for showing us the during and post op , amazing job and always learning. my question for you is ,if you retake the x ray straight after surgery and decided to go in immediately after or was it done in a second procedure , like the next day. its interesting for me to know because i have a tendency to sleep overnight thinking if i should change something rather than rushing back again. what's ur thoughts and advise . jump the gun or sleep it over. regards henrique

Hi, Henrique, I tend to go straight back in under the same general anaesthetic unless it is the end of a busy day and everyone is tired. I would rather sleep well that night knowing that the problem is solved. That's my thought! Cheers, Charles
