Or maybe having been lied to by authorities on many topics we presume they may be lying on the religious topics as well. Then seeking truth we find that in fact they are grossly mistaken. There is no basis for what the ID crew put forth, they change the meaning of words in the middle of an essay, equivocation is a form of lying and it is obvious enough that many believe that it is intentional. These men will seem to lie unabashedly so long as they can sell books to those who "don't want to be responsible for making life choices".

I was recently in a debate about creation and evolution. The one I was debating answered my statement that he couldn't change my mind. He said if I couldn't change my mind when I saw scientific evidence of evolution, I asked him if he would change HIS mind. He indicated he would not. I debated a little longer and finally told him if I couldn't prove God to him, how could he prove there's no God to me. Haven't heard back. So yes, people make up their minds based on what they want to believe unless they have evidence they're wrong. No evidence they ever see will convince them they're wrong unless they look at things with an open mind. I was raised a Christian. At some point I began to question the validity of creation and God. At some point I decided evolution was right. Later still, as I studied things further in science, the Bible began to make sense. So...I went full circle. I looked at both sides. I came to the realization God does exist and the Bible is true. I enjoyed this video very much. One of the best explanations of the creation theory and why it's true. I'll watch it again. And maybe again.

How can you say the bible is true? We know it’s not. We know the earth is 3.5 billion years old, not 10,000. We know the universe has taken 13.7 billion years at least to reach this current state, not 6 days. We know humans evolved from other mammals which evolved from reptiles which evolved from fish which evolved from bacteria, not Adam and Eve. If it was Adam and Eve did their kids have to screw each other? That’s gross and we know inbreeding leads to many genetic defects. We also know you cannot stop the Sun as described in the Bible since it is the Earth that’s spinning and if you stop the Earth we’d have tsunamis and 800mph winds etc. we also know you cannot spend 3 days in a big fish. It’s not a submarine. There’s no oxygen. There are digestive juices. You also can’t have a world wide flood. There’s not enough water. Plus the ocean salt water concentration mixed with fresh water would kill the plants and fish. And the list goes on.
@cheapbastard9907 ай бұрын
You should start by learning that evolution has nothing do do with the origin of life, only how it changes. So you are debating two unrelated topics as if they are the same topic. If you want to argue that supernatural forced are responsible for the changes in life over billions of years instead of natural selection, then argue that. If you want to argue that supernatural forces caused life to exist, then argue that, but realize that has nothing to do with evolution. Either way, your next step is showing some evidence of the supernatural having ever existed. Good luck with that one!

There is one gigantic flaw in your thinking. You, as a theist, claim there is a god. You then have the burden of proof. Unless you can show evidence for your affirmative assertion that a god exists, he has no reason to change his mind. On the other hand, this person you were debating is an atheist. He simply does not believe there is a god. Ho does not accept your unsupported claim that there is one. If he had affirmatively claimed that "There is no god," then he would have the burden of proof as well. He knows that only a universally omniscient observer could prove the non-existence of anything. So he realized there is no point in debating with you, you who are unable to provide evidence for your claim. As for evolution, he definitely has the winning hand; there is empirical evidence to prove that plants and animals change over time. Accepting evolution as a solid scientific fact does not preclude one from believing in a god. It only makes it impossible to accept the Genesis story as a literal reporting of events.

so many excellent quotes in this message: "in a chance universe, why would there be any laws at all? why would there be laws of logic? who decides what they are?"
@histreeonics7770 Жыл бұрын
The idea that a universe having some chance in it means the whole thing is driven by chance is just one of the misrepresentations of science that Lisle and friends indulge in. The insistence that structure comes only from a mind is the reverse of all the actual data we have on minds which is that they are a result of structure. Our minds and the laws that we use to describe the universe are a consequence that some chemical reactions are self catalyzing. Lisle ignores massive amounts of data to come to each of his psuedo-scientific conclusions, ignoring different subsets of the data in order to generate different pro-Biblical inferences. Actual scientists try to encompass the greatest amount of data, and only consider an idea to merit the label 'theory' when it explains all the data that its form is capable of.

@histreeonics You must understand, it’s hard to take people like you seriously when you believe in fairy tales and hypocrisy. You believe that the ingredients (so to speak) that created this universe just magically came into existence, thus defying the laws of physics and energy that people like you say this universe is built on. If you break it down to the basics, people like you believe in nonsense that defies the governing laws of the universe, where as common sense dictates that a hyper intelligent being used science and math to build this place. Again, say that out loud. You believe in a magic poof where materials just appeared and stuff happened, and people like me believe an intelligent being used science to build this place. I mean, you can try and cite some barely observed phenomena, that is most likely misinterpreted, to try to bring forth a retort to my observation, but it would just be doing what people like you claim believers do, grasp at straws. Just for the record, I used to be on your side of the fence. Then I sat down and actually used reason and logic. I came to the conclusion that Chad been duped by people with an agenda into believing nonsense.
@histreeonics7770 Жыл бұрын
@@readingthebible5413 You are projecting. You have a wrong understanding of the present state of science and then claim by debunking (wrongly) that wrong idea you have debunked the actual science. Nothing in the present consensus theory of cosmology states that energy came into existence at some particular point in the past. No main stream physicist states that. A competent physicist does however note that the conservation of energy that you seem to think is an absolute law is actually a consequence of the independence of the Hamiltonian equation on time. However the Hamiltonian does not appear to be absolutely independent of time, it appears to have been different around the time of the extrapolated singularity of non-quantum General Relativity that in turn requires a uniformity of the distribution of mass-energy that is not actually what we measure. IE the current state of the only actual testable theory of cosmology does not state that energy must always have been conserved. Lisle et al, apparently including you based on your youtube name, explicitly claim that the universe as we see it is the result of magic. You directly claim what you falsely state that scientists claim and then have the self blindness to say that scientists are hypocrites. There is a reason some people refer to religious people as delusional, this is one of them. -- The agenda of duplicity here is on the side of the promoters of particular religions, who like Lisle make their living by propagating the lies of their fathers. What turned my disbelief in the God of the Bible, but not the possibility of a creator god, into contempt for my religious teachers was the story of the return from Babylon. In it Ezra and/or Nehemiah conveniently find a scroll of law magically preserved in the ruins of the Temple that among other lost laws included giving 10% off the top of all production to the Temple. That such an obvious scam was accepted by adults led me to discard all residual trust in their sanity and intelligence. I grew up during the hot part of the cold war and that the same people nattering on about Soviet propaganda would accept the same intellectually vacuous crap in the form of religion left me with no option but to doubt everything that they told me about anything. Perhaps you are too young to have experienced that hypocrisy and as such are not as well attuned to the hypocrisy of your position.

If that never happened, why is there an oral tradition handed down from one generation to another in tribes, in all the different countries all over the world? These tribes of ancient people in the Americas, Asia, Africa, Australia, the islands of the pacific... the list goes on and on, the different cultures are not related, and had no contact with each other, but the oral traditions talk about a world wide flood that happened at one time. Oral traditions are how mankind, in the past, remembered their important past and how they preserved their identity. Western cultures write things down. Anyone can say, "I don't believe that." That's easy to do. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean that it didn't happen, or doesn't exist, right? I can't see your brain, therefore you don't have one, true? We all know that is NOT a fact. I don't believe in gravity, therefore it doesn't exist and has no effect on me. We all know that is NOT a fact. Part of the reason we are here in this life is to walk by faith. Faith - a hope of things which are not seen, which are true. We have choice given to us by God. We can choose to believe or not. I'm not trying to convince you. You can take the red pill, or the blue pill. Knock knock, Neo.

It's just claim after claim after claim that's why his hypothesis if you can even call it that, is not supported by other scientists. It's a joke and he's an embarrassment to the field. And actually you say it's alive and well, and that's true because even if we could just prove God right now, there would still be millions of people that would believe. I have been told that no matter what proof we have to go against God that people will still believe no matter what. And that's pathetic. You say that it's alive and well, but so are conflicting beliefs do you think those are true too? And if you look at the statistics there are less and less Believers every single year. There will be a day where everyone will look at Christianity and all the other religions just like they do mythology such as Zeus. There is no more evidence for your beliefs than there is for Zeus or any of the other gods. It's embarrassing that grown adults still believe this bullshit. Maybe you should stop listening to the one scientists that agrees with you and start listening to the bulk of science that think it's pathetic and a joke and actually based their lives on real evidence. Something that God does not have. If there was actually evidence for God people would not need to have faith And it would be taught in science classrooms across the world and it would be accepted as fact by everyone. @norbertjendruschj91213 жыл бұрын
@@juilianbautista4067 Honest question, honest answer. I am not a professional astronomer but a geophysicist, so don´t expect my explanations to be comprehensive. The fundamental problem is: Nobody of us was around when the solar system formed. So how can we know anything about this period? And there are indeed two possibilities which are completely independent. 1) We watch other sun systems, especially young stars with an aggregation disc. With the new telescopes with adaptive optics (Keck on Hawaii and the VLR in Chile) and the Hubble Space Telescope it is possible to watch hundreds of star systems in different phases of planet formation. And what we see fits quite nicely with the astrophysical models. 2) And then you have computer simulations. Make plausible assumptions about the starting conditions, apply Newton´s laws of mechanics, let a super computer work the numbers and look at the results. And even without looking at these models (which supports the existence of the Oort cloud), you can deduce from first principles that there should be a lot of left-over small bodies in the outer regions of the solar system in a spherical distribution: The density in this huge volume was and is to low for planets to form and the interactions between these small bodies are to rare to flatten the sphere to a disc as haapened in the inner part of the system. By the way: Each year new comets are found - where to these come from? I hope I could satisfy your curiosity at least a bit. But if you really want to make your mind up I am afraid you have to read much more about this topic than the few lines I wrote above. I wish you a nice Easter time and please stay safe in these pandemic times. And excuse my English, I am not a native speaker.

To tackle the question from a more theological and philosophical standpoint: Isn´t it a fundamentally flawed idea to prove the supernatural (God) by the natural (physics and biology)? 1600 years ago the immensely influencial church father Augustinus of Hippo wrote his famous book "City of God". In this he developed the idea of the two sources of knowledge available to men: Faith and nature. And as nature is a creation of God, any perceived contradiction between the two can only be caused by either a misunderstanding of the word of God or a misunderstanding of nature. I am convinced that a literal interpretation of the Bible as Dr. Lisle proposes it is a grotesque misunderstanding of faith. In a way it is no faith at all.

Matthew Davis, God didn't create us through Evolution. In the Book of Genesis he created us, not by monkeys or anything, so they can't correspond together. Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. The ultimate reason for not believing in God is notorious primaeval FEAR OF THE TRUTH. Fear is a primal emotion in every single human, from which emanate and derive all other ambitions, passions and second-hand emotions. Even in the christian world, the paradigm of faith is set on the wrong basis. The real question is: ''Do you believe God'', instead of ... do you believe IN God. Blueprints of Creation are all around us, and nobody can wipe them out, just because of unbelieving. Because of FEAR, many non-believers want to stay in excuse '' Ignorance is a blessing'', because from that position there is no call for responsibility. But God set in advance the paradigm of existance, and paradigm of ignorance, in a way that cannot be refuted, by all means. That's why He is God, and we are not. It's not so difficult to believe in the existence of God, but it is difficult to obey his word. But fear not ... God promised something unimaginable for those who believe and obey his Word. .............................................. If you believe in a God who doesn't exist, you haven't lost anything ... but if you don't believe in a God who exists - you lost ALL. That's the way it is ... that's all about common sense.
@Bc232klm6 жыл бұрын
The main reason for not believing in any god is that there's not sufficient evidence to believe that any of them exist at all. Do you also believe in Zeus and Odin? If you do you haven't lost anything, if you don't you're going to Valhalla or Hades!!!! Common sense!
@talmidshelyeshua94186 жыл бұрын
@@Bc232klm ... Dear friend ... off course I believe in existance of 'Zeus' or even 'Odin' as those as spiritual entities created by supreme God of the universe, which rebelled against Him, by the persuasion of Satan. Unfortunately I don't have all day on disposal to give you a detailed insight about that topic. ( but .. it's mindblowing revelation ... believe me). Anyway, I still have enough time to give you an approach to thesis '' sufficient evidence'', based on common sense on a daily bases. Can you throw rocks in the ocean and expect to catch a tuna? Obviously not ... because you don't have an appropriate fishing tool. But you can refute this by saying: ''That's the ''sufficient evidence'' for non-existence of a tuna in the ocean at all'' , by the evident lack of a tuna in your boat. Can you catch a tuna in the Everglades swamps, even though you have an appropriate fishing hook? Obviously not, because you choose the wrong fishing spot. But you can also refute this by saying: ''That's the ''sufficient evidence'' for non-existence of an appropriate fishing tool at all'', by the evident lack of a tuna in your boat. But, you can catch a tons of tuna by throwing a fishing hook into the ocean, and observe your boat full of fish, and when you wake up, there is not a single ounce of the fish besides your bed, because you caught the fish in another 'realm of reality'. Is that a ''sufficient evidence'' of non-existence of a tuna in the ocean? Therefore ... there are several criteria to be fulfilled simultaneously, in order to come up with something called ''sufficient evidence'' of existence. These are, observation tool ... object (subject) of observation ... realm of reality. The lack of only one of these criteria implies the complete impossibility of objectively proving existence or non-existence of anything. Don't be afraid my friend and step up in spiritual realm of reality of your own self-existence by knowing God at the first hand. The only sufficient evidence that proves God's existence, is an evident blueprint of creation, in everything that souround us, even in a physical realm of reality. You don't need to search any further than physical reality, to find the evidence of creation. I don't intend to push you into religiosity ( God forbid !!!)... because religiosity is a belief in someone else's experience, while spirituality comes from your own experience. Let nobody to deceive you. This is between you and God alone... and the only mediator is God Himself. His name is Yeshua Ha'Mashiach, and He is available to you, until the end of the world.

It seems to me that there are three things that most people would hold as fundamentally true and when examined seem obvious even to a child but these things are simply not often considered.The first is that love should be unconditional. In fact, this statement is misleading because love, in order to be love at all, must rather than should be unconditional. I think the confusion arises in that love will always be unconditional but in human experience can reach its limits. While before doing so, it was unconditional and afterward has failed. This creates the impression that love can have conditions.Most people though if they are asked the question would say this is exactly the point at which the love was most necessary. Take a young couple in love and with a bright future a car accident and a life-altering injury and later a love that fails. We can all relate and each of us if in that position would say it was just at that point we would need love most of all. Yet, on the other hand, we couldn't say if faced with such a need we could be equal to it.The second thing curious about love considering the statement that it must be unconditional is why the first question most people consider when hearing the words I love you is why?We have a difficult relationship with love but it is clear to me that no one I have ever met is indifferent. The understanding is deep, intimate, fundamental, and I think when Scripture speaks of God being known by all it is to this intuitive knowledge it is referring. God is after all according to that same scripture LOVE; that is not to say God loves as an act but rather that He is LOVE, its source just as He is life, truth, wisdom and so on. When we love we are moved by a force and I am saying God is that Force. Not that this should be considered as a statement that God in any less personal but rather that His being causes certain realities to be true and that Love is one of those.One other point I would like to make to those who would say what kind of monster must the Christian God be to have created a place like hell where He sends those who fail to love Him correctly....Hell is a place without God, that is all it needs to be to be hell and that is all it is.A place filled to the brim with soles living together for eternity incapable of love, truth, and so on.Not a place I would want to visit never mind live, for the sake of us all He gave up His Son that we could escape the fate and Yeshua went to a cross to open the way for us all. All you need do is receive faith as a gift to be saved. As stated in this presentation faith is knowledge of that which cant be experienced by human senses it comes as a result of encountering God personally. Something that everyone who seeks to know Him will experience.There isn't a skill testing question or a possibility that when He sees you He turns away saying no not him/her. He loves you all you need to do is want to be loved and have the courage to say so. It doesn't even need t be out load,

The problem with creationists is that when they choose to turn away from learning scientific techniques for understanding absolute objective reality, they think they’re smarter than the people who actually observe the data and know how to read it. I was a young-earth creationist, and now I know that evolution is true. There’s no requirement for salvation that says you must ignore the reality of evolution. Doing so is just showing your arrogance as a human, that you really think you’re bigger than you actually are in the universe. Creationism is false, deceitful, scientifically ignorant, willfully ignorant, and it isn’t required for salvation. So if anyone has any questions about planetary processes that they’d like to ask to a geologist, here’s your chance. Science doesn’t try to disprove God or make any such claim. I respect this dude alot and his theory are compelling. I'm a born again believer, but I lean more toward the theory of an old earth. And a time gap between the days in genesis. Day is just a period of time. The math, the theory of relativity basically can be used to predict anything in the universes location back to a picosecond after the "big bang". Inflation, all that stuff still fits in. God spoke into existence the universe, that's the big bang. Then he expanded the universe to its current size, all the complex things he did, what would 24 hours or 15 billion years of difference matter to an eternal God. He may of observed 15 billion years of changes happen in a single day, I suppose. Basically it says a day and 1000 years are the same to God, so to me this makes me think, that day in genesis is more of period of time. God certainly made all existence, and to me its sad that people willingly believe the universe just randomly appeared out of nothing, yet cannot see that so clearly it was God. If my opinion is wrong, so be it. We all will find out in heaven so long as you trust in Jesus christ and his death, burial, and resurection as payment for your sins

It is a collection of hundreds of near death experience stories of people who die and briefly see Christ and/or go to heaven. The witnesses cross the intellectual and racial spectrum and yet all tell strikingly similar stories. So, yes, there are millions of eye witnesses who have seen God. I, myself, have experienced God first hand many times, including once where he fell upon me so powerfully that I collapsed unconscious in a euphoric state of loving rapture, aware only of his comforting presence, for about 4 minutes.

@renancunha47994 жыл бұрын
Why that's not a common ground rather than a neutral ground? Given that there is a Truth and everything comes from It, we should expect It to be absent of contradiction. I remember a quote from Galileo's letter to the Grand Duchess Christina of Tuscany. It was an essay written in 1615 to explain his adoption of the Copernican hypothesis on the configuration of the solar system (heliocentric model) and his still plain reading of the Bible. "For the Holy Bible and the phenomena of nature proceed alike from the divine Word... For since every truth is in agreement with all other truth, the truth of Holy Writ cannot be contrary to the solid reasons and experiences of human knowledge... two truths cannot contradict one another". It's crystal clear that this presupposes a Truth from which all other truth comes. It's also immediately clear that if all truth comes from a single Source, no truth can be contrary to all other truths since this would weaken the Source. Now... Instead, given there's no such thing as truth, how can anything be a contradiction in the first place? How do you define a non-contraction neutral ground when there's no absolute reference of truth, from which all things acquire meaning? If there's no absolute meaning in any assertion, why would we bother to establish a non-contradiction ground to discuss them? Of course, we can do it for fun and intellectual exercise. However, what is the meaning of doing so in a framework where meaning isn't even defined or, worst, is rejected? I'm not trying to answer your question. I'm just adding something from your inquiry, which I think is a nice one.

The Law of Non-Contradiction is itself evidence of a Rational Creator. If the universe was just a random accident, there would be no reason for it to be rational or predictable or logical at all.

DenOfWhasps dont worry i havent so are you saying mere assertions can show that jesus is the one true god?

Tony Jn Laughable....the presentation above has nothing to do with your question. Your question applies to atheism/evolution much more than what Lisle says, which is obviously over your head.

Bigrich104 the only one here laugahble is the fundamentalist who thinks lisle or presupptional apologetics is intelligent, you just like Lisle is obviously over your head, if were any intelligent you can easier realize lisle and all other presupptionalists just assert and beg the quesiton

Lisle is a very clever guy and has clearly thought about this at some length. In the end his arguemnet comes down to "I know the truth because I believe the Bible and it's true."
@CarlMCole9 ай бұрын
No, his argument went much deeper than that. He is saying that everyone believes some of the central teachings of the Bible, and they HAVE to do so even to make their arguments AGAINST the Bible !

Yep. ALL creation knows. I maintain there is no such thing as an atheist. It is a choice.
