You are right Katie, I don't understand why these health issues that affect us all are consider cosmestic as oppose to medical; The same goes for dental issues/problems, we need our teeth to eat and sustain life, yet dental problems such crack teeth, missing teeth are consider also cosmetic. Insurances hardly cover what is so essential in life.

Dr Jeff -you mentioned Fungal infections. I’ve been dealing with Valley Fever that, at first, caused pneumonia. I’m 3 months into fluconozol treatment. Is the hair loss I’m experiencing from fluconozol or more the Valley Fever?

I have the exact same issue. I know it's been terrifying to me. I haven't caught what they've said to do about it yet other than getting your iron checked. But we both know how much bloodwork we go through. I'll be listening intently and praying for both of us!

I had Medullary thyroid cancer so I had complete thyroidectomy….Luckily I had abundance of hair otherwise I would have been bald by now. No offense to you know…. I did have Covid at the end of October. I have noticed that in past several months that I have had an unusual amount of hair loss, and this may be the cause. I noticed my hair slowly thinning when I was in my mid-40s. I was on several medications (for Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and acid reflux) and attributed the hair thinning to my medications. A few years later I was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Now I think my hair loss may be due to several contributing factors -- including pre/post menopause and genetics.
