Karim Zaghib, the great Algerian inventor, is one of the brilliant Arab scientists of the modern era. He is a man who has accomplished the impossible single-handedly, and the world is amazed by his inventions, especially his lithium-ion battery.
Born in Algeria, Zaghib holds 550 patents, 60 licenses, 420 scientific articles, and 22 studies, which were registered in some of the most prestigious universities in Canada, France, and Japan. He is now one of the most important energy scientists in the world, and a lecturer at McGill University, the iconic academic institution in Canada. Furthermore, the Canadian province of Quebec honored him as "one of the most influential scientists in the world" after he received the Lionel Boulet Award in 2019, the highest award given by the Quebec government for industrial research and development. He was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the development of lithium-ion batteries over three decades.
