But I would insist on how clean and powerfull in subtliness JL Ponthy is playing, he is already in advanced age but his playing and the quality of his sound is absolutly overwhelming, highest respect to the master, you are on a level where music fusionates with higher spheres , Subramaniam knows how to invite the highest musicians. And thanks so much to whow uploaded this monumental song!

Goosebumps when listening to JLP (who is larger than life on stage) and tears in my eyes with Subramaniam. It's not difficult to see why Romani gypsies love the violin, with their roots in India! I also really dig Subramaniam on his album Global Fusion with various musicians.

*My dear Yukil, my friend, I too have had a similar experience. In the early 70s, I totally immersed myself - full blast - into the long video version of "IN THE GADA DA VIDA" by Iron Butterfly. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. The perfection of the pounding, mesmerizing beat and the mind-meld synchrony of the possessed band members was too much for me. My mind, my memory, could not let go for hours. For weeks it would come back with super-human presence. The astounding power of music really shook my frail self. I scared myself silly. I was scared of my own fine sensitivity and receptivity for music. Man! It taught me the truth in Clint Eastwood's words: "A man's got to know his limitations." By this I mean, that I learnt that I cannot open myself 100% to music which is too awesome. It will resonate so strongly that it will shake my core more than I can bear!! So now I watch out for musical brilliance and detach sufficiently. Yes, I am a coward now because I am too sensitive to musical brilliance.*
