I enjoy seeing "side" characters standing up to the main characters; when a main character is *always* correct and/or bosses others around without consequence (even if the script portrays them as justified simply by virtue of them being a main character), I start feeling a disconnect between myself and the so-called "hero".

He had to stand up to her, she was way out of line. He doesn't work for her, yes, she's in charge and he should be respectful to her, but she was disrespectful to him. Her romantic feelings for O'Neill are clouding her judgement, that's the problem. He doesn't report to her.

I think they were both right, but neither of them communicated very nicely. Carter is understandably upset that they're packing up without having found Jack yet. She didn't have to instantly bite the nice dr. Lee's head off though. Dr. Lee has his point because he has to follow orders and it will be the general who decides what they will do. He could have been a little more friendly in his response to Carter though.

I agree and you really notice the Sam-Jack relationship at this moment and this is what happens when you are not allowed to be together. Regardless the same result will follow whether they are in an official relationship or not. I thought the military rule was stupid.

I think Lee was right, he is from different branch not under direct command of Carter so she cant order him around beyond given assignment and he just finished that.

one problem for Mr Lee ... he is UNDER military command so Major Carter says stay ... he stays ... he can file reports untill he makes a bridge back to earth but until Oneill or carter says we are done he stays

@@kaboom-zf2bl i think you're mixing up rank with authority. Dr Lee is under command of the sgc, so his commanding officer is general Hammond. Even when major carter has a higher rank, she is not his commanding officer...between the lines he told her "you are not my boss, but when my boss, that is your boss, tells me to come back, I will come back".

@@mammutMK2 as son as he as place under her command he became under her .... the military doesnt work on seniority it woks on rank for the current job assigned he IS ON a military site and Sam is the highest military officer in charge ... makes her HIS BOSS ...doesnt matter if he works for hammond or GOD ... she is his boss ... period ... fyi retd captt ... cdn and USA forces ... this is the way it is ... whos comman yu fall under for Operations command is for payroll purposes .. you follow the hghest ranked officer on site ... as a civy period
