Two months after hysto BSO, I woke up feeling dead inside, coupled with severe anxiety. I hadn’t been offered anything, not even oestrogen. I decided on sui&ide, I took myself to A&E, they termed it ‘in crisis’. I had all over muscle deterioration, blurred eyesight, I felt no joy, brain fog so bad I could stare at a wall all day, and I just didn’t see the point in living. They gave me patches and sertraline. Apart from the hot flushes going away, the way I felt didn’t change. I stopped running, cycling, and socialising, my life was destroyed. I was referred to a nhs gynea, and managed to get to the front of the queue because of my sever mental state. She put me on testosterone, and it changed my world, literally, I’m one of those women that function well on it, I would have ended things by now if I hadn’t have been helped.

Updated one month on HRT. This is exactly how I felt , when I hit post menopause. I’ve started HRT, including testosterone a week ago, hoping desperately that it’s the help I need. Update 5 weeks later: the HRT has changed everything! I am totally functional again, I have energy, joy, happiness, strength, clarity, etc . It took a full 3 weeks to start feeling better, but I do! Each day on HRT is better than the last as it gets my hormones more regulated. I imagine by this time next month I’ll be even better off than I was before meno. I knew hormone function is important, but I never realized just how important until I experienced it for myself. I work in mental health, and have now added hormone health to my assessment and treatment protocols.

I am on HRT 53 estradiol gel , It made the difference but not for missing words and memory recalling, assested with a professional gynechologist and endocrinologist we added DHEA since a couple of months which optimized my mood and response to stress I must say sensitively , which it helps my daily life a lot I must admit, I look forward to add pregnenolone apparently it helps with cognitive function. would you please make a video about DHEA PLUS PREGNEGNOLONE? For INTRACRINONOLOGY dhea and pregnenolone are converted in the exact missing hormones each individual need . it would very very appreciated thnaks for sharing your knowlede dr louise you are an angel for us ladies blessings

She briefly mentions DHEA Pessaries at 20:15 This peaked my interest because, as I understand it (maybe I'm wrong), DHEA (in combination with magnesium) converts into testosterone (and estrogen). I searched online and it's called an Intrarosa pessary.

Hello Doctor From Belleville, Illinois in the United States. I want to thank you so much for helping me and all the other ladies! I have had a lot of depression in my 30s then 40s come and and having alot of weird symptoms...I had no idea what was going on. The sadness was unbearable. I found out I was perimetapausal. I was 41 ....I thought that was for people who were over 50. Shocked, I was! They put me on a low dose birth control. It wrecked me mentally! I got off after a month and a half. It was so bad...I felt the only choice I had was to end things. Ketamine treatments saved me. I'm finally stable again so I They put me on a low dose birth control patch. On day 8 I felt the sadness come back. Every day got worse. I was back at rock bottom. Watching your videos I demanded to have my testosterone tested it's very low! In the United States it's supposed to be at almost 9-42 range. I'm a low 3... in my heart I believe this was the problem the whole time! Now I have to fight to get the testosterone and hold on for the 3 to 6 months! I'm finally hopeful and feel vindicated! I'm not crazy! Thank you for your video! You are saving lives around the world!

Dr. Newsom, What is the difference between pg and ng/dL? I started testosterone therapy over two months ago, and my level went from 25.4 to 26.8 ng/dL. Based on this measurement, what would a more optimal level be? I tried to talk to my healthcare provider about this today, and she told me I was abrasive and rude. It really hurt my feelings, because I have severe health anxiety, and I am just trying to advocate for myself and figure all of this out. Needless to say, I will not be going back to her.

At 14:15 you explain why pellets and patches aren't used in the UK. You say you offer testosterone in a different way that doesn't require people to constantly come back to your expensive, busy private clinic... You started explaining this, but get distracted on a different subject and never finish how you do it. That's exactly the info I need. How do I get testosterone replacement in a country that doesn't provide patches or pellets for women. Please anybody know this?!? I'm desperate for this information. 🙏🙏

Hi Dr Newson, l know this is off topic, but please please please can you address the question of how HRT might effect fibroids, in particular when there is a possibility of them being heterogeneous. My partner is running into brick wall after brick wall with our health supplier getting nowhere fast. Simply won't even talk about the option of HRT, for fear of possible cancer. Incredibly frustrating and distressing. And yes I am the 1% of men that understand how menopause can crucifie women. Thank you.

She needs a different doctor! There are wonderful doctors who understand the LOW risk of HRT, but they’re hard to find. I ended up with a naturopath who’s been wonderful. But, my functional medicine doctor was happy to prescribe hormones as well. Either of those should be willing to prescribe, but will ask for exams more often to ensure fibroids aren’t growing. If she’s not up for complementary/alternative doctors, you can look for a menopause specialist on your countries menopause society directory. They should certainly know that hrt is safe with fibroids. In North America it’s the North American menopause society.

@lilimccarthy8664

I developed high cholesterol for the first time since menopause. My dr explained this happens because choleaterol is used by our sex hormones for transport and metabolism. So, when our hormones drop we may see an increase of serum cholesterols because the body is still making the cholesterol but it’s no longer distributed and used by the hormones we aren’t creating. So, HRT should create a reduction in cholesterol.

@rebellashbeauty4903
@rebellashbeauty4903 8 ай бұрын
I have now heard so many experts like her advise against pellets in HRT and TrT because they “shove” a scoop into your body then it randomly releases more than may be needed. It’s not precise dosing. Also, most clinicians love to sell them because they get the highest profit from marking them up ridiculously high in price.

My Dr is not educated on HRT she had to search testosterone in front of me. She is reluctant to give me testosterone to add with my body identical HRT. I asked for testosterone cream the other day, and she didn't want to give it to me. She said it was of a label in our country. I asked for a blood test and she was reluctant about that too until i demaded it. I looked at the referral she gave me for my blood test and it said to check my calcium, iron, vit d, insulin, thyroid and she wrote this patient is wanting to start testosterone therapy. Is this even a proper hormone test. It looks like she is not listening to me. I had to push for my HRH as she tried to push antidepressants on me for many years..

Agreed. I had consulted with her, she’s very pushy on birth control if you’re between 35-45 years old, but you can’t find bio identical birth control, which is what I prefer. Menopause Taylor is bias towards synthetic hormones and doesn’t seem to care that there are key differences between non-bioidentical and bioidentical hormones. She’s very dismissive as a doctor, and not very “comforting” in my opinion. And yes she poo-poos testosterone and bio-identical HRT. And she promotes doing surgery to remove all your reproductive organs once you’re done having children, etc. 😮

Not all men with low testosterone have these symptoms. Furthermore men with normal test have symptoms of depression, obesity and lack of libido all the time. Not all women experience significant symptoms from menopause despite obvious dips in hormone levels. Clearly it is not enough to simply equate low levels of x hormone to y symptoms. This being true exogenous hormones should be a last resort method as you have no clinical grounds to recomend it as a solution. My question then is are you really trying to exhaust all variables and being transparent about your uncertainty in diagnosis and treatment or are you pushing a possible LIFELONG hormone as a placebo while profiting enormously from it.

Wow. Firstly, Dr. Newton clearly states, "not everybody who has low testosterone needs it probably because they're feeling absolutely fine, and the second thing is there are other reasons why people feel tired why they're not interested in things why they're not sleeping well. S just because someone's got a low testosterone doesn't mean that's the absolute cause of all their symptoms... as GPS we're very used to looking in a very holistic way and this might be just part of the jigsaw puzzle." Secondly, perhaps in your next life, should you be born with two xx chromosomes, your input here will be relevant. Until then, you would be better served to stay in your lane...and god willing, you are not a doctor or someone with the 'authority' to influence women's well-being.
