Each time I listen him singing the same song it’s a different experience ..it’s unimaginable for other musicians to sing like him ..really a genius! The children there are very privileged..sad that he is not present with us anymore..hope the children are learning his compositions and preserving his music!

The thought that Balamurali was doing all this for an audience of the youngest music learners imaginable, and that too, drawn from a small village in Karnataka, is unimaginably touching. The uplifting spirit of the great Dasa tradition of this state in S India is truly alive in this Shibira: the laughter and the obvious immersion of the kids in Balamurali's supreme performance are a fulfillment of their vision of an inclusive and truly free society. May the Shibira take new life from this fallow year and come back with greater force and verve next year!

"Bala" Murali always remained a Bala as far as music was concerned. He just played with swaras, taalas and Raagas and stretched his God-given extraordinary voice to limits that ordinary human beings can't reach. Music just flowed from within and perfectly without any effort on his part!! That's why at 82 he hasn't lost any of his childish curiosity for music!!
