Nestalgica is great because he covers a great variety of game themes which is something I try to do with my covers too. Dr. Mario has some great music and it sounds even better in this cover!

I haven't heard this tune for decades - I owned it on Gameboy back in the day. A static screen game like this or Tetris was good for it but I never cared for the Gameboy. No backlight, no color, and heavy blur during scrolling made games difficult to play. Gameboy Advance SP and beyond is where it's it. If Gameboy had discontinued and Nintendo forced into being a 3rd party developer for the Game Gear and Lynx, the Nintendo of today which is reliant on a hybrid handheld console might have turned out very different. But I do think the original Gameboy did a decent job with sound - the availability of stereo was noticeable and I still remember the Castlevania Adventure stage 1 theme.

Tanaka really knew his stuff.. I suppose he still does, when was the last time he composed for a game?
