Habitual liars show the same pathologic relish in misleading people. He looks like someone who has finally found an audience so gullible that he can misrepresent anything and because they want to believe it, they will never question it. He is renowned and renounced for his tendency to cherry-pick data and use logical fallacies like guilt by association such that what is true for tainted meat he wants you to believe to be true for all meat ... even when the evidence he presents literally contradicts him on the very page that he is referencing.

I agree. Greger is a dangerous liar, and the information he and people of his ilk needs to be countered at every step if they choose to keep doing this, but he's just a human with as much worth as anyone else. What I'm not looking forward to is the (likely) incoming flood of alt-right 'told you so's' against the flexitarian/vegetarian/vegan movement that helped accelerate the health crisis. Just because these people are wrong doesn't mean you need to make the remainder of their life a misery. Strongly disagree, but let's live in a tolerant world.

Dr Greger's enthusiasm for cruciferous vegetables are so contagious. Once I had to eat about one pound of cauliflower each day for 3-4 days straight plus about 1 pound of bok choy each day, because if I did not eat that much, they would be going to be thrown away. So in just 3-4 days, I surprisingly found that some annoying little bumps under my eyes that had been there for more than 10 years, simply shrinked, dropped, and disappeared, and never came back. i love this interview, re-watched it, shared with my whole family, esp before big holiday meals to reinvigorate our lifestyle goals, share recipes, find agreement in what we learn. i found Dr Gregor 8 yrs ago on youtube and after my 36yr old son watched with me, and followed the no meat-no dairy lifestyle, he completely CURED his Ulcerated Colitis after 3 months. Additionally, a follow-up colonoscopy showed not one sign he EVER had UC at all❗ Now his 20 mo old son is thriving on 99 per cent plant based food since birth. This year on his first halloween he wondered what all the children were collecting, my son explained its a tradition to dress up but we don't like candy, so of course his son could smell and was curious, and decided to try it, and after one bite put it back in his bucket. When he got home he motioned to the fridge for his favorite - fresh rancho gordo black beans❗At every turn it seems his curiosity leads him back to the taste of real food. Plus he sees what we eat and like every other baby, likes to mimic his mom 'n dad. Thanks to Dr Greger our lives have greatly improved in so many other ways, i could write a book.💕

I am a nurse and work in healthcare so see that side also. Keto can do amazing things for weight loss and control seizures. And maintaining a low BMI can be extremely beneficial as most diseases are a metabolic disorder. Its all about being open and what works for you. 🥰

Dr. Michael Greger gave a lecture about the health benefits of mushrooms that I saw in the summer of 2013 and so on my 3 backpack trips with Shane I foraged and ate wild mushrooms virtually every day in the wilderness - and on the 15th day I collided with what I thought were just more common edibles in the button stage and ate a quart pot full of them mixed with my soup that night - fortunately Shane Gard opted out of the mushrooms for that night - he missed all the fun I had - but good thing. Shane was able to get on a hilltop and summon help - 12 hours later a Black Hawk Helicopter with the 101st Airborne dropped a line from 170 feet overhead with an Army Ranger named Al and I was tethered to him and hauled off to Steele Memorial Hospital for 2 days of recovery from my incredible high! I credit Dr Michael Greger forever changing my life and the added advantage of all his great info to increase my health and lifespan.

But so far, the only mushrooms I eat so far are Lion's Mane, shimeji, shiitake, and one or two others. I do thank Dr Greger for the corroborating material and research he shares about mushrooms, but not ever has he been my guide or mentor to push or motivate me to go to the wilderness and eat whatever mushroom I find. In other words, he's not pushing me to be careless and stupid .

First time to this channel, and I loved the interview with Greger, who I have seen interviewed many times over the years, and recently on this subject due to the new book. But this interview is one of the best, because you really got him to delve into some of the hormonal/enzymatic and other metabolic mechanistic pathways, which he doesn't do as often as much. Kudos. I was then surprised by the level of vehement, willful, often insultingly combative ignorance on the part of a large swath of commenters here about what the data overwhelmingly indicate regarding the benefits of plant-based eating and reducing meat consumption. These recommendations are not based upon compelling personal anecdotes, but hundreds of actual placebo-controlled, double-blind, peer-reviewed research studies, which are Greger's analytical stock in trade, and should be for us all. But... it's a noise-filled, confusing world of information out there now, and a lot of people clearly are challenged in how to navigate it and see beyond their own biases. Good luck, regardless.

Our great-great-great ancestors weren't looking for broccoli in the winter time they were looking for meat. Our great great ancestors weren't gardening. They moved around where there was water and food meat. Fatty juicy meat including bone marrow. Our ancestors needed to be strong so they can build buildings. Hall lumber cut down trees. I don't think they were looking for a bowl of salad. And then go out and do a hard day's work. They would go out and kill animals and bring them back. The baby children were nawing on fatty red meat not a bowl of broccoli. There was no such thing as vegans back in the ancestral time The bones that archaeologist dig up have proved it over and over again they were not vegetarians they were meat eaters.

The ultimate answer to diet is the anthropological archaeology record and analysis of our meat-eating ancestors over the last 2 million years. The only plant eaters that branched off with us died out. We as predatory mostly-meat eaters survived. In the process we developed big brains, lower colon shrunk, stomach acid levels rose higher than felines, and eventually were so successful that we drove our primary food sources into extinction. Then we turned to more plants and domesticated ruminant animals in the last 25,000 years. It will take a long time to adapt to mostly-plants if that is what we keep eating. I am not going to risk my life on a vegan science experiment when the results already show the mostly-carnivore path is healthier. Omitting SAD foods is obvious for either approach.
