Acts 5:3-4 Holy Spirit is God. When you talk to God the Father with the help of God the Holy Spirit, the language is absolutely understandable to God only.

Holy Spirit is God in the spirit form, or He is part of the trinity. Jesus told His disciples that Holy Spirit will lead them after He depart from them. The person talking in tongue is talking to God the Father through Holy Spirit. If God can understand it, then why we need to worry. 1 Corinthians 14:2

What Achan is telling is that when one is talking in another language, others should be able to understand and/or another one should interpret. This is what St. Paul said. Achan is advising us not to show off with a different tongue.

Idicula Jacob hello, it’s not necessary that others should be able to understand. Because when we pray in private we still speak in tongues and not able to interpret. That is led by the spirit to worship and praise the almighty creator and our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s the spirit which is talking not we ourselves. I am sharing the experience not for debate. Would like to know more on this.

It’s a good message but I have few doubts with the topic of Gift of tongues. As I believe It’s a gift from our Lord Jesus Christ. If a person speaks in tongues and not able to interpret that doesn’t mean it’s not a gift. It’s the spirit which is leading us to talk in that language and we are not talking by ourselves. We do speak in tongues in our private prayers. I am not well versed in this but it’s my experience and Need more suggestions and Please clarify my thoughts. As it’s written in 1 Cor 14:2-25.
