The USA is the richest country in the world and many American are in Poverty. Economic hardship for some is a feature of capitalist economies. Some people will always be less off economically.

That's a feature of capitalist ecomonies... Some people will always be less economically well off. The USA is the richest country in the world. And there are Americans who are not economically well off. More information however is needed to properly analyze your situation. Let's start with this....Are you educated and qualified? What skills do you possess, that can be converted into wealth?

@@kgraamd Omar Davies is the best so far despite all the lies that the JLP & people who made bad investments in 1995 & paid for it before FINSAC was introduced to rescue the situation. Dr. Clarke in his six years as finance minister never had to face the tight fiscal space as others before him had to. Dr. Omar Davies & Dr. Peter Phillips went through the periods of tightest fiscal space in our financial history. Despite the financial meltdown in 1995 Omar Davies returned debt to GDP ratios of 72.25% (1996) 73.7% (1997), 81.67% (1998) 88.96% (1999) & 98.33% (2000). By way of context, the Debt/GDP ratio was 138.74% when the PNP took office from the Seaga led administration in 1989/90. Also, at the end of the much talked about 18½ years, the Debt/GDP ratio was 112.99% in 2007. It was back up to 137.93% 2011/12 after Bruce Golding with Audley Shaw as finance minister. Portia Simpson Miller & Peter Phillips handed the Andrew Holness admin a Debt/GdP ratio of 122.66% and a blueprint for debt reduction, complete with fiscal legislation embedded by the then Minister of Justice Mark Golding. All Nigel Clarke had to do was get behind the wheel & steer. Nothing awesome about him. By the way... the IMF & World Bank lauded Dr. Omar Davies for his crisis management strategy during FINSAC. Dr. Davis was also offered a position with the IMF three times which he declined every single time. Nigel of course grabbed it with both hands first time asking. Best Finance Minister my foot😂😂😂

There has never been a finer finance minister except for Mr Seaga. Under Dr Clarke stewardship the country financial affairs were well managed. Under his time with his budgets there has been no new taxes and it sets a precedent that all Jamaicans expect including the socialist in the country that budgets presentation must never again include taxation. The country affairs must never again accept arbitrary taxes as done under the PNP while in office. Or for that matter as pracised borrowing and putting us in debt as that is a strategy of the PNP. The record shows that the largest increase in debt was under the PNP of PJ Patterson and Omar Davis and this is grossly irresponsible and that has hampered the future of the children of our country for a long time

By the way...didnt the IMF attempt to recruit former Finance Ministers Hugh Small & Dr Omar Davies as well, both of whom declined the offer? The IMF has a history of recruiting finance ministers from developing countries so they can enhance their appeal to other developing countries even as they hammer them with austerity measures within their borrowing agreements.

I am afraid I can’t endorse this move not one bit, personally I’m convinced that the IMF saw the great job you have done and decided that, hell no! We cannot have this man moving the country forward so they made an offer, be real Mr Clarke, we know what you have done and what you will continue to do, it’s high time we start putting Jamaica first instead of self.

A simple Google search would hide the fact that you're not so educated or intelligent to a great degree. Both parties and even overseas sources and finance bodies said the country grew tremendously over the years. He brought great policies and leadership while the opposition worked with him instead of playing tribal politics.

It looks like it sounds like all these people that was asked about Nigel is of the green party, in October 31 2019, three years after being in power the Jamaica Dollar was 130 to One US$ now October 31 2024 the Jamaica Dollar as move up to 152 to 1US$ and this man and PM 28 just borrowed alot more money 💰 from IMF, something that mamma p did everything possible to end and step away from. Am concerned about how people minds work in this country, i can see that many don't know bad from good, and good from evil 😢
