So many people have illnesses that end their lives short because there is no cure and it’s so sad that people pass away because they eat too much something that is just as simple as eating less food. I know it’s an addiction and I do feel for these people. One thing that bothers me is the people taking care of these very overweight people, they keep buying them junk food and giving them too much food I just don’t understand that. If I were in that position I would not buy any junk food, absolutely no soda only water and orange juice. The only thing I would buy is fruits, vegetables and chick breasts that’s the only food that would be in the house. I would tell them if they get food delivered I will no longer take care of you, I love you but I will not be a part of you killing your self. I would put a sign on the door saying do not deliver food to this house the person living here is very sick and can die if they eat certain foods, I would put a ring doorbell so if someone is delivering food I can tell them to leave and I would put cameras all in the house to monitor when I’m not home. Your loved one will be upset with you but it’s for their own good. And tell them what are u gonna do if I leave? You will need nurses to come take care of you won’t you feel embarrassed? Are you gonna ask them to make you a 5,000 calorie meal 3-4 times a day? Are you gonna ask them to get u a bag of chips 3 times a day? I bet you won’t feel comfortable asking them so u better start getting on this diet I’m putting u on because I’m moving out if u don’t follow it. They need to have some consequences not to be rude but to help them. It’s so sad that this poor woman passed away I hope she is resting in peace and everyone grieved properly. Hopefully some people will get inspired by this woman’s story and they save their lives. RIP

@@peanutbutterisfu Juice is full of carbs and sugars (even though it's natural sugar, it's still sugar and empty calories). I know for a fact orange juice is not on his diet plan. He does want them to eat lots of salad (low fat dressing on the side) and lean protein (turkey and chicken, fish, lean beef, etc.). I don't have any weight problems per se, but I closely watch what I eat, and if I'm really hungry I drink a glass or two of water before I eat anything. It helps fill me up (although sometimes I get full from just the water and don't have room left for food). I am very different from the people on this show, because I love to cook, but absolutely hate to eat! If I could live on just water, I probably would. I would not be able to handle a partner who only took a spit-bath once a month! Yuck! I hope her wife is married to a wonderful person next time around. A good way to not use as much salad dressing is to put it on the side in a little cup, then dip only your fork into the dressing before you stab the salad. You would be surprised at how little you use, but get the flavor of the dressing in every bite! Works like a charm every time.

I never understand these weird relationships, where someone marries the fat one, or becomes the fiancé or the boyfriend, girlfriend, etc. what in the world are they getting out of this relationship? I never saw this episode, but just the few minutes of this and her oh so sweet, "thank yous' to folks while the background voice is talking about how she doesn't like getting cleaned up. Seems like she is being sweet in front of the camera's, but sounds like the rest of the time she is a nasty piece of work. A 26-year-old girl being told she stinks, shouldn't need to be forced into a shower/bath. Crazy as it seems, she seems to have almost more mobility than I do with really bad arthritis. I do as much for myself as I can. Beth looks a whole lot older too, so I wonder why she is part of all this.

After struggling thru 2 pregnancies with gestational diabetes, I had gained a fair amount more. However I was still completely functional and worked 60 or more hours a week, on my feet. After I hurt my back, I was unable to work anymore and considerably less active. That's when the depression set in. I am now over 400lbs and my loving husband is my caretaker. He helps me with almost all daily activities. I don't over eat, I don't eat junk food. I stopped drinking soda altogether. I drink only water except for one glass of milk with dinner. I drink a mocha max protein ensure for breakfast, and a chocolate one for lunch. Then I have a decent supper. Last night was kabobs with meat n veggies. I had 3 sticks. I digress, my point is, circumstances got me where I'm at but my loving hubby never fails to tell me I am beautiful every day and he loves me with intensity. Despite my physical appearance.

I've never been her size, but I truly do understand her aversion to the shower. At my heaviest I was still fully able to shower totally normally, but I swear every time I got out I still felt disgusting. Part of that is because I got sweaty if the shower was too hot lol, but mostly it was because I had to look and interact with my naked body. Even the fastest shower involved me looking at and touching myself, and I felt disgusting and sad. I never avoided showering to the point my family had to force me to, but I did dread it and push it off for a few hours when I could. I was severely depressed (I'm still fighting the depression but it's better than before) and since I've been losing a lot of weight, my shower aversion has been going away, and I'm finally starting to feel truly clean after a shower. It's such a relief. So I can personally empathize with her, it's a real thing that comes with severe obesity and also depression. But man, I can't imagine how much worse it would be to only be able to do sponge baths. It's sad.

She then mentions she asks people to bring her food throughout the day and cut to a scene of her friend stopping by to pass her fast food. I'm assuming since the mom also said it's like walking on egg shells and becomes an argument everytime, that she's probably not telling her wife and mom the truth on just how much she ate through the day so she doesn't get ridiculed by them. The enablers and the clear link between mental and physical health are the most interesting parts of this show for me. There is the ‘designated patient,’ with food addiction often stemming from unhealed trauma, but their family and friends usually have severe co-dependence and a trauma history of their own. They are so enmeshed. For one person to get healthier, they all have to. I wonder how much they help the families behind the scenes if at all.

But she was a grown woman and that was not their responsibility. She killed herself imo.

The whole household needs to make the necessary changes to their diet. Her mother and wife are very overweight although more mobile. It baffles me when they say that they just don't know how they gained more weight and think that people will believe that nonsense. The denial is so strong, but they know exactly how it happened. We all know what we should and should not be eating - there really is no mystery to it. I have a sweet tooth and my ideal diet would consist of cakes and puddings, so I put some in my shopping. The difference is that once it's gone, it's gone until my next lot of shopping and won't be refilled inbetween.

Yeah, that was not realistic. Staged for dramatic effect. There's no way they schedule all the staff for a major surgery and then, oops, we need to weigh you, sorry, canceled. The facility loses money if something is cancelled the same day. They would weigh the patient at least 1-2 days ahead.

Body positivity shouldn't be about being comfortable with what ever size you are. It should be about being critical and confident being whatever size you are. Comfort and confidence are different things. You want confidence to face the world but also to be critical enough to know that being overweight is not healthy. If you are comfortable in your size, though, you won't want to change and will only keep getting bigger.
