A most informative lesson on a man, Amilcar Cabral that we all should know about!
@nishwadadamusic75584 жыл бұрын
Amilcar Cabral actually does have a daughter here in Cape Verde called Ivá Maria Cabral. She is a history teacher at the University and wrote several interesting books on colonialism as well. Cabral also lived here for a long period of his childhood in the council of Assomada...where till this day stands the all inspiring tree in the garden of his old house...just a little extra info. It's too bad our educational system here in CV doesn't pay as much attention to Cabral as they should...they just mention him, but don't require any further study...so this would be a great education video for a lot of our own people, because whether we like to admit it or not, some of us still suffer from a superiority complex, especially amongst the leaders of our country. They should be the first to follow Cabral's great teachings and strategies. Thanks a lot!

I loved every bit of it... Nationhood is the only means by which modern civilization can completely protect itself, independence of nationality, independence of government, it is the means of protecting not only the individual, but the group of nationhood is the highest ideal of all people...let Africa be our guiding star...maat..

My grandfather Salah was a student and friend of Amilcar. Even when I was a young boy he always made a conserted effort to talk about Amilcar. Now that I am older, i can see the warfare agianst black people going on. Ive deployed twice and i can see the same tactics being repeated over and over again. I just hope the black community can wake up soon, we don't have alot of time.

I'm sure that brother Amilcar was among the finest men ever born and raised on African soil. I enjoyed your broadcast but you're splitting hairs, despite the greatness of Amilcar and Lumumba, Min Malcolm is the greatest man ever produced from Black society be it the US or the continent of Africa.

Definitely not true. Malcolm X lead not a single man into battle. The so called passive MLK took more risks than Malcolm X. While Malcolm X was in Harlem, King was in the belly of the beast risking his life on a day to day basis fighting to change a racist society. Malcolm X was a champion for black people. I will always defend his legacy. The greatest black man ever is a silly notion anyway. But if i was pushed, people like Dessalines, Louverture, John Horse, Samori Toure, Thomas Sankara, Amilcar would first come to mind. They're not only intellectuals but warriors and soldiers. Let's not forget that X was heavily influenced by the great Marcus Garvey. A true man of action.

Chad Tep Even MLK admitted that blacks in the ghetto’s in the Midwest and up North were more vile and oppressing he described it as a “New level of hatred” then the South because “The Negro only exist when he was engaging in acts of violence.” King was intrigued that’s why he moved to a Chicago ghetto for a stint.

Amilcar was indeed born in Bafata, Guinea-Bissau (which Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau was one country) both his parents were Cape Verdeans but his mom was I believe born in Guinea-Bissau from CV parents. His dad remarried another woman and his dad took him to CV at a very young age. All his young schooling was in CV. His mom moved back to CV and took Amilcar back. His mom Iva (spelled Eva) was a seamstress who used to make a living sowing for the community and also during carnival season . He looked up to his mom a lot that he wrote a beautiful poem about her. Once he finished high school, he went to Portugal for university and the rest is history. He’s a personal hero and we share birthdays. I’m from 🇨🇻 Cape Verde. Love and light 💡😊

You are definitely ignorant about Amilcar Cabral. Amilcar Cabral was considered by British as the second most influential person in the entire history of world leader. These is among 5000 leaders in the world they even put him at top of Churchill's.
