Musician, psychiatrist and storyteller Dr. Richard Kogan returns to The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Cultural Center to explore the life of this uninhibited, exuberant man who craved public adulation yet was mired in his loneliness. He will punctuate his lively and humorous presentation by playing beloved favorites from West Side Story, including “Somewhere”, “Maria”, and “America.”

I liked everything that Bernstein wrote. While it's true he turned out more theatrical musicals, don't forget the Jeremiah Symphony. However, Leonard did what he felt most comfortable with.

You speak for yourself. Many "classical finatics [sic]" think nothing of this kind.

@@pianoredux7516 Not at all many classical musicians such as myself feel this way including the great Maestro Bernstein himself who was so honestly aware that his broadway scores were much better than his symphonic attempts.

@sarahjones-jf4pr Really? What is your source for this information? Some people subscribe to your opinion about his symphonies. Others do not. Let's be fair.

@@pianoredux7516 Of course but not all that disagree are rude they just have their opinions right or wrong, my source of information? I studied the life and compositions of Maestro Bernstein in a thesis for college.
