It's a shame it's only audio (except for the documentary part). Thanks anyway for sharing this conference

It’s so amazing how each of them had a different skill that was necessary for survival. They had an engineering student who assisted with the radio, Canessa who was a medical student. An amazing story.

I remember this happening. When my birthday came several weeks later, my wish was they all would return home. I was happy when Nando and Roberto walked out of the mountains.

'Society of the Snow' will be released in cinemas in December, and on Netflix in January 2024. The survivors and the families of the deceased say this one is the real story.

Canessa and Parrado are not the only heroes in this amazing survival story, what they did was the result of the extraordinary teamwork, the heroic actions and the sacrifice of all of the survivors and many of those who died in the mountains. The main leaders and strategists of the group were the Strauch cousins, but as the survivors say, each one of them was a leader depending on the moment and the skills needed throughout the 72 days. The new film 'Society of the Snow', based on the book of the same name (or 'The Snow Society') written by a lifelong friend of the survivors', does portray the real story, and is a tribute to all the heroes in this ordeal. The best documentary on this tragedy is kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGPUiKStoJiLpK8 Its director and Pablo Vierci (the author of the book) interviewed together all the protagonists.

Roberto Canessa was touched by GOD, both him and Nando, that Roberto went on to save babies shows that he cares about his fellow human being's so much. A wonderful man. He once told me "we will meet one day". I knew he meant Heaven. I believe him.

@J Moore I never wanted to say that, but i always felt Roberto had a bigger heart than Nando.
@dyanshane4 жыл бұрын
@J Moore Interesting. I had that feeling about him. For one he always tried to make it look like he did the trek by himself, he never give credit to Roberto, and he never states had it not been for Roberto wanting to wait for winter to end they would not have made it. Also Roberto seen the road and argued to go that way and he would not, so they went another way taking them much longer. WIthout Roberto's brain, Nando would have died. For sure. There is many things i notice about Nando being more into himself, he never gives credit to any of the others as well. So Roberto is my hero, i just adore him! He has been married to the same women, such a family man...a doctor who saves lives...what a wonderful man!

OHHH and when the guy who seen them threw them food over, Nando ate MOST OF IT before he brought it to Roberto!!!! I thought that was terrible!
@dyanshane4 жыл бұрын
@J Moore Yes, and i never understood why he got the most credit? I did know Roberto got very ill the last day, all the more he needed those nutrients. Yet, Nando ate most for himself and did not give him half. Just going to show, what you say is very true.

@J Moore I have looked for years for a original photo of Dr Canessa at the rescue. Just 2 months ago i actually found one! A original press photo of him on the horse dated the day of the rescue, a original wire press photo. I will always cherish it, and am very happy to have finally found one! Now, i would love to find a way for him to sign it, he is such a nice wonderful person i bet he would. It's just finding a way?
