Bought this tiller about a month ago, great tiller so far, starts on first pull, really strong does everything I bought it for

So far I can’t complain outside of the gear selector being a little difficult at times. If you re engage for a second it sometimes allows for an easier time selecting another setting.

This design has been around for a long time. I had a Weed Eater brand that was built in 1995 that i finally replaced last year because it was just worn out. They are pretty good machines but you need to store them in a shed or some kind of building to keep the gear change mechanism from rusting up. And put grease on the axle shaft so the wheels dont get rust welded on.

Looks about like my Troy Bilt horse. I live in North Arkansas, very rocky. It about beat me to death trying to break new ground!

Does it till up to 11" deep as claimed?

I would say i was able to get around 8-9”.

@@doubleahomestead7794 Wow 8-9" is nice enough. Just to make sure, you mean 8-9" DEEP, not 4-5" of fluffed up top soil that looks like 8-9"?

@@friendlyrooster1 yes 8-9” deep is my guess on the depth I can get under the right conditions. I’ll be on new ground next year that’s got a bit more clay in it so I’m not expecting the same results but in the ball park.

@@friendlyrooster1 I was hoping to add a picture but idk how to do that or maybe it doesn’t allow it. But I made a few passes at the new place and I was only able to get 7-8” so my guess of 8-9 was optimistic. My apologies there and hope it didn’t steer you in the wrong direction.

@@doubleahomestead7794 Thanks for trying. Even 7-8" is good enough. Most tiller will only till 6". Also the type of soil makes it easier or harder to till. Greatly appreciated.

That thing surges a lot, I don't like surging engines.

I agree. If I made the video year 1 it wouldn’t be surging. I used fresh gas and stabil when stored. In our area finding non ethanol wasn’t possible. We now have a place near by that sells it so I can store them with that. I believe the surging is a direct cause of the ETH fuel with stabil. I’m sure if I clean the carb it’ll be just fine but it doesn’t bother me enough to spend my time doing so as I have a lot to do. Perhaps after this season is over I’ll do that.
