P.S. I bought this pedal. Some things are cool for about 10 seconds when the novelty wears off and you realise there's no practical use for those sounds, but there's dozens of sounds that are really great and useable because the thing just has so many different effects built into it! It's good in synths too.

Almost a decade on and this video is the best resource I have found for the bitquest pedal. A friend of mine lent me one of these pedals and this is where I come to find a jumping off point for understanding all of the fun modes it has to offer. I've had so much fun just with the filter in fuzz mode with plenty of clean mixed in to distort the lows and keep crisp highs. Thanks for explaining many of the facets to this awesome piece of gear in a fun and succinct way.

Your videos are mini works of art. They never once stray from their primary function and that is to demonstrate the pedal, but still they're beautiful to watch anyway.

Ryan at Dr. Scientist pedals is wicked. Amazing service and effects. I am extremely happy with his pedals. How a husband and wife in their basement basically put out some of the most original and high quality pedals is a cosmic riddle. Thank you. Knobs demos are also amaze balls. Congrats.

@samlevine96398 жыл бұрын
Since this pedal does so many things, where would one place this in their signal chain? I understand it depends on context (what you will be using the pedal for, mainly), but if the strength of this pedal lies in its versatility, what do i do if i want to take advantage of that throughout a live set? I dont want to have to keep moving the pedal around if for one song I want to use its cool bit-y pitch shift distortion (generally at the beginning of the signal chain), and then for another I want to use its delay (generally at the end). Or is this not something I should fret over? Also I love your videos! I mean it when I say they are works of art in and of themselves, in a similar way to how a documentary can be informative yet still artistic. I can't STAND those gear reviews where it just treats the pedals as if they are artless machines. Pedals are coloristic and beautiful, and the approach to them shouldnt be so businesslike!
@GuillaumedeMachautsferret6 жыл бұрын
There is a galaxy of sounds many whacked out and many perfectly straight up and useful in a wide range of situations that lurk in this thing. One could make a fantastic rig with about 8 of these little bastards.
@Jowannabe9 жыл бұрын
This is by far one of the best pedal's demo I have ever seen. This pedal is so amazing and the video is dead on the money! It's pure art. I would like to know your opinion about this... I have been thinking to buy like 3 bit quest and use then in a daisy chain? What do you think? Could you give me an advice about that? I would like to use one just with reverb, one just with delay and one for modulation stuff. I know it sounds kinda stupid because I could invest in like a reverb and a delay pedal instead, but I love so much the sounds in this pedal. Plus, if I want to do crazy experimental music I can change the reverb to another weird effect and add that to the other effects. I mean, I would have a lot of different combinations to play around.
@Knobs9 жыл бұрын
+Jowannabe I'm with it, it's a great idea. You could make an entire pedalboard with just the Bit Quest. Also, you couldn't be supporting a better company. Buy one and see how it feels underfoot!

Your videos are fantastic! best out there, pure art. Not only do you make me want to get these pedals, but the things you do with them inspire ideas for settings with my existing pedals. keep it up! def going to get this pedal just from that crazy sprinkle delay sound at the end! One question... since this thing does so much, where would you put it in your chain???
@Knobs9 жыл бұрын
Great question. I expect that no matter what you decide, it will change. Pedalboard order is far more subjective than it's made out to be. Where things go depends entirely on what you are trying to do. The BitQuest! is an excellent chance to try unorthodox effects placement. (I put mine right about in the middle).
