Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi is a very eloquent speaker. He makes it interesting to hear him and continue to hear him. I am very happy to hear that India is reaching higher levels in economic data. But every time different parameters are chosen to show the achievement. Reports from.foreign agencies are selectively chosen which speak high of my country. If i like to dig deeper and compare performance during different periods, i do not have any records to follow. Why should india depend on other agencies like IMF, WB, S&P and other agencies. Why not our country produce these statistics which can evolve over period of time but must be available for thorough scrutiny by any agency. Indian reporting should reach such levels to compete with international agencies. While we hear the Central Government is doing very well in Economic parameters, can we say the same thing about the state governments. All state governments are working on deficit financing and ratios are not impressive. What is happening to Indian Rupee. In these 75 plus years, its value has reduced from a rupee to a Dollar to 83 rupees to a dollar. The green back is growing stronger. When are we going to arrest this trend and make Rupee a strong currency. Can we expect some response from the think tank. Jai Bharath.

We basically tend to believe what has been told by the west, the whites. It is this psyche of ours that makes Sudhanshuji to quote IMF, S&P etc. He also spoke about statistics our agencies provide which are least heard. Regarding the exchange rate of Rupee we need to compare with other major currencies . The exchange rates depend upon demand and supply factors. USD being the primary currency for trade settlement ( more than 70 percent of world trade is invoiced in USD) it is quite understandable strengthening USD against all other currencies in a free economy.
