Happy First Birthday to the Channel! Thank you all for your support, positivity and engagement. Thus far, I have tried to talk about affordable skincare products that are accessible at the drugstore and today I wanted to highlight CeraVe's Resurfacing Retinol Serum. Does this retinol check off all the boxes?
We all love retinoids for their anti-aging benefits as well as anti-acne properties. There are so many out there and I hope that these reviews help you especially if you are a beginner to retinoid creams/serums. I BOUGHT THIS WITH MY OWN MONEY.
I know this involves subjectivity especially in my opinion on the texture but I hope that an overview of the ingredients will help guide you on which fits you better. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Hi Dr. Sugai! I’m so glad I found your channel. I just turned 60 😱 and I’ve taken ‘ok’ care of my skin thus far (though I tanned a LOT in the 70’s and 80’s - but we all did back then) I’m ready to learn more and do better! @@ThickBaloney i just wash my face with mild soap like cetaphil and moisturize with the cetaphil moisturizer and then wait for it to dry and finish it with the cerave resurfacing serum. Thats only for night. For day just soap, moisturizer and cerave sunscreen spf30. 😅

I really like how cerave has changed my skin so far. I have only tried their products a week ago and I can definitely tell the difference from before and after. Dr. Dan: I discovered your videos about a month ago and appreciate your expertise, and the fact you are not pushing expensive skin care products. I started taking better care of my skin when I was in my mid-thirties, after getting my first professional facial. I had been using soap and water and treating my T-zone area with products which actually made it produce more oil. I bought some of this, Cerave hydrating cleanser, & a Cetaphil light moisturizer. I wanted try this since I saw it said "resurfacing". I NEED that, and to fade acne scars. I've never been happy about my pore size since I was a teen either. I'm so glad to see a doctor likes this stuff. I just started to do my acne routine midday, then the non active wash, retinol, then moisturizer at night. I love the way this product feels too, and how easy to apply it is. Great video, Doc Daniel! I love this serum. I’ve been using it since January. I’m 54 years old, don’t have many wrinkles to speak of, but this serum has done wonders for my sun spots. They have lightened SIGNIFICANTLY! Some have completely disappeared. I also watch “ The Budget Dermatologist” (Dr. Maren Loche) who also highly recommends this serum. Try the CeraVe moisturizers. I’m older so I use the night cream.There is one for both AM and PM. They have ceramides, niacinamides and hyaluronic acid. Absolute best! You can’t go wrong with these. Worth a try.

The CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, in the wide 16 oz tub, the 4th ingredient is alcohol. I actually add glycolic acid together with this to get extra benefits. Since the percentage of retinol is low in this cerave serum, I just add a 5% glycolic acid peel pad before this to get benefits, love it.

I got this product recently at Ulta and i've been using it here and there, sometimes I feel like I get a little irritated by it sometimes but now that I watched your video I know to only apply a pea size amount, I was doing one solid pump which is like a pea size and a half, but I do enjoy how it makes my face feel, it feels tight and very smooth. Hi Doctor, just started using CeraVe skin renewing retinol serum in the purple bottle, really like it. After reading descriptions of both bottles, looks like the blue is for more oily skin, and I have normal to dry. Looking forward to your video to compare the two 🙂. I would like to try Skinscience Alpharet at some point, but CeraVe is really good, also love their cleansers.

I just got this few days ago and so far I am loving it. Used it twice already and maybe I have seen some difference on my post-acne marks. Smooth consistency, non greasy after application. Not having any dryness/flakey skin or redness. Heres hoping the marks fade away in few weeks 🤞🏼

Wow! I just bought this product today, excited to get started - and right after applying it I decided to do some research and get some honest reviews on the product. I came across this video - and was totally shocked when you said not to use it while pregnant or breastfeeding. I am breastfeeding my 3 month old baby and did not realize it could have potentially negative effects on my baby!
