I was still a little kid when I saw this, but I fell madly in love with Dr. Syn when he pulled off his mask. That music made him even more romantic. ❤️

I remembered the first two words of the intro song for YEARS, but completely forgot what movie it was from... Until now. I knew it had something to do with a dude dressed as a scarecrow, but no one could remember anything about it. I've been looking for this for SO many years. I'm so glad you have it.

BTW, in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (movie) on the wall of the meeting room, there's a painting of three prior members... including The Scarecrow.

Brings back great memories. I watched this as a multipart series on Disney when I was young. Loved this movie, the English countryside, the marshes, horse chases, all of it. Great show. I wish I could find it on DVD or blu ray.

I've visited the Marshes (including the Martello Towers). I can understand the reasons for choosing the location for smuggling, but I've got to say that looked like an awful lot of open territory to be hauling contraband about. No wonder the Scarecrow had to run interference.

Wasn't Dymchurch the setting for the retirement home where the "First Men In the Moon" story was told?

Great! Could you upload this movie in this quality to Mega, without being separated into parts? Thank you so much!

Saw it as a boy and recently bought the limited issue DVD. Not as good as I remembered, but few things ever are. There was a Scarecrow serial in a comic at the time the film was shown in England (1964), but I've long forgotten which. Anyway, compare this with the 1937 British film, Doctor Syn. If you can, download Thorndike's Doctor Syn books from the Internet Archive. Our hero is actually a bloody psychopath.

Why couldn't Disney remake this? It would be like Batman meets Pirates of the Caribbean.
@haydenysidro93884 жыл бұрын
Eh current disney isn't smart enough for that besides it would probably end up like the lone ranger
@blakeadamson15764 жыл бұрын
@@haydenysidro9388 Probably worse, in all honesty, considering Gore Verbinksi actually tried with the Lone Ranger. With Syn, they'd probably throw whatever MCU director they've got by the balls at it and then fire him when he doesn't just make a burlap Batman clone with more jokes.

The Mexicans had their Zorro, the Americans had John Hancock (or, maybe, Bonnie & Clyde?), and the British had Doctor Syn! I love the masks...the Scarecrow, the Owl, and the Skull.....but only the Americans have the Joker (or the Headless Horseman, for that matter!).

Funny thing in an old Disney magazine there was an art piece of the scarecrow fighting the headless horseman their was also an liberation with it but i can remember what it said
