Shirley, I would recommend application of Psalm 107. David here speaks of 3 examples of broken people. Wanderers (unstable), the lonely (helpless), and gluttonous (those full of of misery by what they’ve done to themselves). Stay out on those deep seas, but get in the ship. God knows you’re stuck in a bad storm. He wants you to keep reaching out to Him (obedience, faithfulness, dependent prayer) and He’ll decide when He will break that storm for you (and if and when He’ll bring it back). He can make the sea dry, and he can make the desert as standing water.
