When we decide to go our own way from God's revealed will, we are moving away from the Presence of God... away from God's will, God's purpose and God's blessing! Many of us are living outside of the Presence of God because we don't like what God want for our lives in rebellion! We are living outside of the Presence and the goodness and the blessing of God because we insist in going our own way! So we come up with our own plan in rebellion against what God plans for us! The heart of independence is to glorify self...making self the head of our life! Rebelling against God's divine authority and what He wants for us! People love a religion that they can control! A religion in which they can come and go as they wish and live anyway they desire without feeling condemned! You see, independence is derived from pride, not wanting any one telling us what to do and when to do it and how to do it!
