You out did yourself with this demo Adam. Showing all the CAZ 45 controls and how they interact while playing a great groove. Thank you so much for taking the time to demo this very vertical amp. Great production and as always excellent playing.

I was very discerning when it came to selecting an amp/cab combo that could handle nearly anything I threw at it and went all in on the Caz w/ matched Z cab. I wish it had more of a spotlight against the competition out there, but it’s a true pleasure to witness your chops at the top of any KZbin search. Lucky to have found you and ultimately solidifying my investment. Thanks for the inspiration, my friend. Edit: It would be awesome if you could compare the Caz to the more mainstream options to see how it stacks up in a “head-to-head” (pun intended).
@AdamGotheridge2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the truly kind words! 🙏 A comparison video would be pretty hard, like it's not just the sound, but how they react to how you play. I tried to show some of that with picking volume, like this amp is quite different from a lot of my others, but those things are pretty hard to express in a video. I basically hoped that people would get a good idea if this would be right or wrong for them with this video. Thanks again!

I tried one that is used with the 2x12 at my local shop. Very cool amp, sounds great. There's some interesting things going on under the hood, I'd love to get my grubby little hands on a schematic.
@AdamGotheridge4 ай бұрын
I think it's a really cool amp and doesn't really sound like anything else to me. Regarding the 2x12 you tried it with, I've had good results with everything from 1x12 open back to 4x12. Kind of very forgiving that way to get a decent sound. Regarding the schematic, I know Z kind of hates sending those out. There's an interesting video that came out today on Tim Pierce's channel regarding a Dumble amp where part of the agreement to purchasing the amp was that you would never sell the amp or allow it to be copied. It's worth a look for sure. Thanks for watching!
@AdamGotheridge4 ай бұрын
One other point. In general, when Z releases an amp for production, he has a reference copy of the amp which he keeps for well, reference. Kind of like the schematic and component list isn't really the whole story, so he wants to be able to dial up the original creation at some point in the future so that if he has to make others, he can gauge them sonically against a reference point. That holds true even for amps that he "discontinues".
@countzero51504 ай бұрын
@AdamGotheridge I just like to have a schematic because I want to be able to repair and mod my amps myself without relying on a manufacturers (often abysmal) warranty service. Big manufacturers really don't need one if they want to copy an amp. If say bugera decided to copy it, they would just buy one, reverse engineer it and make their own schematic. Wanting to see this specific schematic really has no purpose except to satiate my own curiosity because it's so different. I believe they said it was a completely original design, not based on an existing amp.
@AdamGotheridge4 ай бұрын
@@countzero5150 I get it, and more power to you to be able to do that and understand that stuff. I'm just glad I turn on an amp and it works. 🙂

Hey Adam, how nice is that?! The attack of picking, we all know this, but the range is amazing man. I love Dr Z amps man. So much versatility. The presence control alone has so much range when you combine that with the tone controls and attack....wow. And what is this new space with so much natural light?? I know it's up stairs but really nice to have that and the dungeon studio as well. Love this demo.
@AdamGotheridge2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! 😁Yes, the natural light, good for the soul. Back bedroom, has windows to the back and creek side. I figured I could take some spare stuff, put it in that rack, and have a pretty efficient work area. There are 3 amps in that rack, and the top one I can flip out easily. All within easy reach and eyesight which is really helpful. Room sounds terrible, so mostly using headphones. The monitors work ok if I keep the volume super low and close. Louder or farther away, the room acoustics really mess with the sound. It's where I do my normal day job too (if not in the garage). I'll probably move out to the new shed for work when it gets nice out. It has windows looking across the back yard and a workbench right there. Lots of light and fresh air. Farther from the street so the cars aren't as annoying too. It's big too, 16'x36'. Lucky and blessed to have all these options. 🙏

How does this gain differ from a boosted Maz gain? Sounds killer! Also are those eq bypass pedals for Maz passive or do they need a power supply?
@AdamGotheridge Жыл бұрын
They are extremely different animals, and I'm not really sure how to explain it. In general, maz is more bitey, caz is smoother and more refined. In general the caz is more compressed volume wise. The eq bypass pedals are passive, but you need power to show the led status of the switch. You can do that with a battery or a 9v dc source like a pedal., but it only effects the led. And thanks! It's a cool amp capable of kinds of gain sounds from light to heavy.

@@cragginshred You know what's funny about this stuff is that everyone hears things differently. Most everyone if they have a comment on that would say the maz is a pretty bright amp. What speakers/cab were you using with it. Remember that I have both the maz18nr2 and the pink taco 2, so I have some reference. I could also ask what pedals were you using (if any), were you using the loop, etc. Thanks
