The album Under a Godless Veil was written inspired by an unofficial Gnostic writing by a Gnostic known to Anders(vocalist), who used this text as a basis for composing the lyrics of this album. When he refers to the mother he is referring to Sophia (Achamoth), who is given as a mother by just this specific writing. The rest of the lyrics are entirely taken from the normal Gnostic bases. In the official clip Sorrow of Sophia, there is the name of the writing that you can look for on youtube that explains this understanding of this specific Gnostic that Anders used as a basis. He is not considered canonical in Gnostic studies, but he is a well-known author.

In Gnosticism we were created by Demiurge, God of the material world, son of his archon creator Sophia. In Gnosticism, the true God can only be found through gnosis (which is knowledge), this true God is the God of the spiritual world and not of the material world.

@@AEON1911 That is for real interesting. I don’t have a belief system. You aren’t going to believe this but once I asked God to strike the tv in my elderly friends living room. We were both atheist and made fun of how Stupid the idea of god was. I still don’t believe there is a male figure that’s god. The tv was struck and on a day with clear sky’s. It lite up with a light blue haze. It haunts me a lot. That’s beside the point and I wouldn’t believe it if I was told a story like that. I will definitely read about the mythology of the names you mentioned and the god of the spiritual realm. I’ve always looked towards quantum mechanics to give me some examples of what might happen after death. The lightning could have been aliens or something I don’t know. That has to be part of the fabric as well. Thanks for your time

I like you guys . The female singer has a great voice . The male vocals just don't do any thing for me . I have the same opinion of lacuna coil . When you have a great female vocalist & add those type of male vocals . It just ruins another wise good song for me . Personally I don't call it singing . It just sounds like a lot of unnecessary garble to me . That's my opinion . It just doesn't sound good to my ears . Would also like to hear you sing something heavy .
