I feel like the FDS ver nails its "Tubular Bells" sound. You can hear the distinction of the voice lines better, it's creepy, and atmospheric. After the intro, the main melody "do-do-doo~" is answered by the middle voices "du-lu-lu-lu-duu~". In this version they're alive through the movement. On the NES the melody calls, and the middle suddenly answers at high volume like a 2nd melody, then disappears, then reappears. Once you come to appreciate the calling and answer of its melody, it feels in your face and all over the place on NES. With that said, the NES ver is a bit more cohesive in its limitations.. the voices are more electronic than "instrumental", less unique but more nostalgic of 8-bit, and their harmonies blend making it seem even faster on the arpeggios; it jams pretty hard. So, both have great merits, it's just a user opinion on if they want a creepy horror soundtrack or solid chiptune jam.

Better than NES version
@Nyoreny9 жыл бұрын
I honestly think this is a better version of bloody tears, more bass to that melody part, I do admit the beginning is a bit flawed but hey, the nes does not have the kick ass bass the famicom has.
@nicholas2944 жыл бұрын
nah, it's there in the us version, just a bit drowned out by the rest of the tracks
@AverageJoeMama2 ай бұрын
@@nicholas294 There’s actually an explanation for that. The US version of the soundtrack uses DPCM samples, and for some reason, whenever that channel gets used, the triangle channel (or the bass) is quieter.

Oh lord Japan, how are your ears able to handle this?!
@imfsresidentotaku96996 ай бұрын
Because you fail to understand that Japan isn’t you. The Famicom Disk System was capable of broader instrumentation than regular Famicom games, so the Japanese probably appreciated that. Even I, an American, can dig the eerie chiming quality of this version.

The beggining part sucks but then it is quite decent. (Hate comments welcome!)

actually I'm kinda agreeing with you. other parts are "decent", but NES version is wholesome and just amazing.

+Ruby Williams Discussions about the song are all right, but I would rather not have a fight break out in the comments section of my videos. I appreciate that you feel strongly about the different renditions of Bloody Tears (it IS an awesome song, after all), but there's no reason to fight over it.

+Ruby Williams Because I'm okay with people stating their opinions on my uploads, even if they dislike the things that I upload. And in this case, I really have no cause to be offended. I didn't have a hand in making Castlevania II - hell, it came out three years before I was born! Again, thank you for coming to my defense, but you needn't worry about it. I have a thick enough skin that I don't get offended at other people disliking songs that I've merely uploaded for their enjoyment (or lack thereof in this case!)

If you're wondering why this sounds like a complete mess, it's because this game was extremely rushed. The NES port is actually overall more polished because it had a little more time.

do you have proof it was rushed all i knew before that was that the US translation is horrible and lacked the included map and story the JP game had, that there was a cut mansion zombie and a few things from the concept art didn't get in. i personally like this game, so idk
