If you're bothered by the travel time then wouldn't it make the most sense to start from the top left side and mine to the south? You'd start close to the wash plant and with the money you earn you can start by paying off the debt and then hopefully be able to afford more Frankensteins the further south you get, thus solving the travel time issue.

The gold map shows the total depth of each cell when you view one. It also shows the underlying bedrock gradient with the terrain contour lines. Hope that helps you decide where to keep digging

You should take the excavator and put the tracks parallel to that row of good material and park the dump truck next to it. Dig as deep as you can until you run out of material then back up a bit and keep digging repeat this process until you run out of material then use the bulldozer to flatten out the ground you just dug up and park the dump truck down there the simply move over and start again. In the operating world we call this making a bench and its the most efficient way to mine all the gold on your claim as you strip away material rather than making a bunch of holes this also solves your problem with the bedrock because you always have something to sit on

hey Drae, the river water source can evaporate. I was just doing a clean out with the water coming from the mobile tank and a notification said "the water source has dried up and nothing is flowing." Just for future use. ;)

You know what would be great in my opinion? Take a game like this but make it co-op/multiplayer and add realistic dirt/particle physics that looks super realistic and feels satisfying to dig and load on to trucks. That would be a dream to me. We might not be quite there yet as far as computers go.

Hey Drae I hope you see this. I have a good tip on when your battery gets destroyed where you dont have to waste money on a new battery. I dont know if you know but when your battery gets destroyed you can recharge them by using another battery to start up the machine then put the destroyed one in and let it run while you're using it and the destroyed battery will be recharged.

your perception of distance is so far off "we're about 5 feet down" but the top of the hole is like 3 feet above your height. Your 5 feet is more like 15-20 actual feet.

I was thinking it looked to only be about 6 foot 6 inches to 7 feet deep myself but I agree it looked deeper than 5 feet. If that was 5 feet deep the player character would be as small as a kid. Not to mention all the equipment and the pickup would be tiny versions of normal machines too. The character looks like a normal adult man, probably 5ft 8in to 6ft tall, next to the pickup and bank.

I mined the first claim with 1 Frankenstein and 6 dump trucks, used my bumpers on the controller to quickly transfer machine to machine. It felt pretty efficient.

Push forward and stay the line. Also note the terrain map underlying the gold map this will tell you how far below sea level the bedrock is and can help you understand the ratios of gold to dirt per square a bit better.

Maybe you could buy some large items that have flat surfaces on top. Like the electric container or something. Put them next to each other maybe even buy some equipment to use as storage I don’t know be creative with it. Make a stair case ect

you should drill the map out since most of the gold is in an 4x16 area on pine valley. and use dozer to take down the 2.5 meters of overburden

DRAE you missed the ramp that was made out of bedrock because when you first started mining and you glitched out the ground so you could look through it you missed the ramp. when you aimed your camera to look at the back of your claim it was to steep, but when you aimed your camera in the direction of your excavator you would be able to see that underground was a ramp made out of bedrock

For the purpose of a series of videos, a gradual build up of better and better payoffs will be more effective. By this time people watch this like watching a story unfold, rather than just you trying to master the mechanics of the game. A little tension building to begin with in this "chapter", like just barely making enough to pay the bank loan at first goes a long way to adding a bit of excitement to the story. If you go for the high payoff first, the episodes that follow will be counter climatic. The more comments you get demanding you go for the good gold the more you know how "invested" people are in the series. A story isn't a story if the main character has no difficulties or conflict.

I do not think open pit is the way to go here because your so far away you need to switch machines often assuming you will use the Frankenstein to move the dirt out of the pit into the dump truck you will have to load the Frankenstein with the front end loader then get in the Frankenstein to turn on the belt then get out of the Frankenstein walk out of the pit get in the dump truck and drive to the plant which a lot of steps. when conversely you can use the excavator to load the dump truck and have less step which means you save time
