So the Bears have essentially given up a 2025 4th round pick for Austin Booker? Don't the Bears have two 4th round picks next year??? You know, because of the JF trade with Pittsburgh? So essentially, Poles traded Fields this year for a draft pick next year, which was traded to draft Booker this year! And, if Booker had gone next year, he's stated to have been a 1st round pick? So essentially, the Bears have swapped one 1st round draft pick (JF) for another probable 1st rounder (Booker). Seems like good business to me!

Booker has good physical talent and physical skills. But he is extremely inexperienced and very raw so he will need a lot of development. Booker will not be starting for the Bears any time soon, but in a few seasons, he could be a good contributing player. He is definitely a boom-or-bust type of player, but he is well worth the gamble in the 5th round. I like that Poles is taking some risks and drafting some players with raw talent who need a lot of development but have a high long-term upside, as opposed to taking more polished players with less upside who can contribute as a backup right now.

He is undersized and has to add 20 lbs of muscle mass to even hold his ground. He played 1 year of college ball. This is a mega reach. Hopefully, he hits the weight room hard to increase his overall power. He is a rotational depth guy. We still need a free agent interior Dine rush specialist badly.

If the league thought Fields was good, we’d have gotten more than a 6th round pick. Lots of opportunities, Denver took Bo fucking Nix, if Atlanta was hedging their bets on Cousins health and used the number 8 pick in round one instead of giving the Bears a 4th for Fields. Or LV, or the Giants who stuck with Daniel Jones. We weren’t trading him to Minn in the division, but clearly nobody thought much of his future with his rookie deal coming close to its end.

Why care about a 40 time on a D Lineman? Burst and 10 yard time is much more relevant. When will a lineman run 40 yards in a game play? Never.
@briannettles6696 ай бұрын
The 40-yard dash time is crucial when evaluating NFL edge rushers for a few reasons. First, it measures their raw speed and acceleration, which are vital for edge rushers to burst past offensive linemen and get to the quarterback quickly. Second, it provides insights into their explosiveness off the line of scrimmage, indicating how effectively they can generate power and momentum in short distances. Additionally, a faster 40 time suggests better agility and change of direction abilities, which are valuable for maneuvering around blockers and making plays in space. Overall, while the 40-yard dash isn't the sole determinant of success for edge rushers, it's a significant metric used by scouts and coaches to gauge their athleticism and potential impact on the field.
