I'm thinking of buying this one and your review was really helpful. The only thing I wonder about is the fact that there is no hole on that surface on which the tablet rests. Does that make the tablet really hot in the back? When I work in procreate sometimes it gets really hot on the back middle part

Good video. Product failed to convince me it’s worth spending my money on it instead of making my own accessories though. Thanks.

Hi! The Draft Table is so great :) A question, what is the app used at 1:42?
@StartAStudio4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question. I'm pretty sure that's the iPad version of Clip Studio Paint. They released the full paint (and animation) software normally run on a PC/MAC for iPad. I tried it out for a while but in the end, didn't stick with it, it's an impressive bit of software, especially for the iPad but not exactly tailored for it. We're currently loving ProCreate on the iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and now use it regularly as part of the full animation production workflow, which typically involves a lot of Adobe After Effects (on a Mac/PC).

Do you think the Wacom Mobile Studio would rest easily without overlapping too much on this stand?
@StartAStudio6 жыл бұрын
I'll try and remember to measure the lip when I'm in the studio today. (*I'd meant to do that for someone else already). I've not used the Wacom Mobile Studio (I did consider it at one stage) so I'm not sure what the edge of the tablet is like but I'd hazard a guess at yes.. though the official Wacom one would of course be a safer option... us-store.wacom.com/Product/wacom-stand#/undefined1

The lip at the bottom of the stand sticks out 9mm (at 90º).

My Ipad has a cover which is a bit thick. Do you think I can use this even with my cover on? I honestly do not want to remove the cover every time I use this just in case. Thank you :)

I'd assume it would be fine, though if your cover is particualrly curved at the bottom theres a chance it would'nt hold. I can measure the 'lip' for you next week when back in the studio.

That would be cool! Thanks so much :D but how does your ipad sit on the stand tho? does it have some extra space left with the thing that holds it?

I have a 10.5 Ipad pro. Is this stand ok for a 10.5 Ipad pro also?

what app do you use for animation on ipad? thanks

We do a lot of concept work and storyboarding using Pro Create on the ipad. (A superb app). Then if producing draft keyframe animation on the ipad we have used Clip Paint Studio (amazing desktop software now fully running as an ipad app). Plus sometimes we AstroPad and sync with an iMac so the iPad works like a Wacom tablet. Great with Adobe Animate or other desktop software if compatible ie.Toon Boom.
